"NO" .... the subject of Tony's texture is "N693WA".
The aircraft involved in the Da Nang/Saigon incident was apparently N692WA ... a different aircraft.
The infamous overloaded flight operated between Da Nang and Saigon sometime during 1972 .... I think it was .... but anyway .... the aircraft was attacked, and damaged, upon departure from Da Nang and flew to Saigon with both its gear and T/O flaps extended.
This was apparently the last flight out of Da Nang .... not to be confused with Pan AM's last light out of Saigon and of Hollywood fame as the move "THE LAST FLIGHT OUT". I personally feel this WORLD AIRWAYS flight/"dash for it" might have made for a much better movie/plot than the later PAN AM evacuation.
In regard to the famous WORLD AIRWAYS B727 flight/incident in Vietnam. One source states as follows ....
Whilst another source states as follows ....
And .... just for the sake of interest .... here's the known/confirmed operational history of WA B727-173C N692WA .... of the Vietnam incident ....
.... as presented my me several weeks ago !
