funny how a modern livery just doesn't sit well on a classic

I saw this aircraft at Miami (in roughly the same condition it´s currently in .... minus engines) when I passed through there on April 18th.
Nice to see an old B707-138B (ex QANTAS AIRWAYS) still floating around.

I don't think that paint is quite correct to be the Dreamliner scheme. It's definitely a copy of it, but not quite. If they'd come closer to it, I think it would've certainly looked better.

Yes..liveries are design fo the shape so generally they don't suit other generation types, the reason why most of the retro liveries loo ghastly...along with using silver instead of natural metal
Funny bumping under some of the rear windows unless that is s mask waiting to be take off.

looks almost like a decal was put on...
if this was more stylised to the 707 it would work but they appear to have just dumped the dreamliner livery on it.

Some might not like it (this livery on that aircraft) .... but .... the fact remains that it does "EXIST" .... and because of that it´s "REALWORLD AVIATION HISTORY" .... and for both of these reasons it "IS" a legitimate target for "textruction" and for the HJG B707-138B models .... should anyone here ever be willing to attack it in the future I think that puts things back into a reasonably proper perspective ! I knew this would be a controversial livery . But I think it will make a nice addition to the fleet.

Actually Mark when I do repaints (which, unfortunately isn't often anymore...) I prefer to start with a bare metal airplane. It helps with panel lines and makes dirtying it up easier. (Mainly because I like to chip away paint to expose bare metal.)
And, yes, I agree it would be a nice addition to the fleet.

WELL .... if you´d like to consider "THIS ONE" .... then maybe you´d like to have a crack at it ---- "FOR US" .... if you feel you can make a decent job of it, BUT, have chat with Tony (just to get authorization) first.
