My first opportunity to get a word in here
ABOUT THIS WEBSITE UPDATE
Firstly .... many thanks to Dan for getting everything uploaded for us .... much appreciated ! .... I also want to thank both Herman KREIMES, and "BLUE STAR" for their inavaluable assistance to us recently testing our latest B707 PANEL CORE FILES package .... much appreciated too guys !
Secondly .... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE .... and welcome to the last HJG website update for 2008 !
Now for my usual briefing notes regarding this particular website update .... none too brief, but, typically thorough ....
1. The AEROCONDOR COLOMBIA B707-120BF texture is located in the "B707-120BF" sub category on the "B707-120B" downloads page.
2. The QANTAS B707-138 textures are located in the "B707-138" sub category on the "B707-120" downloads page
3. The QANTAS B707-138B texture is located in the "B707-138B" sub category on the "B707-120B" downloads page.
4. We are indebted to Erick CANTU/VISTALINERS for authorising HJG to host his beautiful B727-100 model .... thanks a million for that Eric !
Only the B727-100 is featured within this website update. B727-200 will follow later on.
Our new B727 textures and Aircraft Base Pack files are located on the new B727-100 page accessed per the "B727-100" tab which appears on the downloads page. These Aircraft Base Packs are categeorized as follows ....
B727-100 (EARLY)
B727-100 (LATE)
B727-100C (CONVERTIBLE/FREIGHTER)
Each of these 3 aircraft categories features its own FDE but all 3 models are identical. We appreciate our reference to both "EARLY" and "LATE" version aircraft are not official B727 nomenclature, however, this has been done only in recognition of the fact that some of these aircraft had more powerful engines and higher operating weights than other. We have "TRIED" to represent this .... hence the necessity for separate Aircraft Base Pack files. Minor FDE variations do exist between both Early and Late aircraft performances and B727-100C too. All B727 FDE should be regarded as BETA material only .... at this stage.
Despite these Aircraft Base Packs are labelled "EARLY" and "LATE" versions, the UI IDENTIFIER within ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data for each texture remains listed as "B727-100" regardless .... forcing FS to display these aircraft under the "BOEING/B727-100" title in the Aircraft Selection Menu . This is intentional. These aircraft subjects will all link to their seperate and correct Aircraft Base Packs anyway.
B727-100C & -F aircraft will be appear under "BOEING/B727-100C" or "BOEING/B727-100F" headings in the FS Aircraft Selection Menu.
PLEASE NOTE: All B727-100 textures work fine regardless which Aircraft Base Pack folder they are installed into.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: The forward fuselage maindeck cargo doors of all B727-100C & -F designted subjects does not operate. We do not have a dedicated B727-100 model with an animated cargo door. We do not know if Eric intends to provide one in the near future. If he does then this must proceed at his own convenience. We ask that Erick CANTU/VISTALINERS not be pestered regarding this.
5. We have provided 2 separate B727 soundpacks which are named as follows ....
B727 P&W JT8D EARLY
B727 P&W JT8D LATE
These new audio files are located in a new "B727 SOUNDS" section on our "BOEING SOUNDS" downloads page.
PLEASE NOTE: It is intended that the "EARLY" soundpack be used with all B727-100 (EARLY) version aircraft .... and the "LATE" soundpack be used with B727-100 (LATE) and B727-100C (CONVERTIBLE/FREIGHTER) aircraft versions. These soundpacks will work fine regardless which B727 version they are applied to. Minor tonal differences do exist between both soundpacks. These soundpacks should also be regarded as BETA material only.
6. We are also indebted to Richard PROBST for kindly authorizing HJG to host his superb B727 panel .... thanks Richard !
Although this panel features a B727-200 ADVC type configuration it works fine with all the B727-100 model, FDE, and both soundpacks .... along with Eric CANTU's/VISTALINERS B727-200 and B727-200F models and all their supporting data files too.
This new panel file is located in a new "B727 PANELS" section on our "BOEING PANELS" downloads page.
PLEASE NOTE: This panel is for FS2004 use only. It is not currently compatible with FSX. Subject to future authorizations we may look at FSX compatibility later .... NO PROMISES !
This panel looks, runs, and sounds good within FS2004 .... featuring an extensive suite of panel/gauge sounds (with all the bells and whistles). This is not a VC panel, but, it does feature a superb landing panel view and comes complete with a full set of high quality interior flightdeck views.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: This panel must be installed precisely as directed per the accompanying installation instructions (both gauges and WAV sounds are now hard-coded together and must not be separated from other contents of the principal panel folder). Failure to do this will result in the panel not functioning as intended. A manual is provided. It is essential this be read, and understood, before using the panel.
Basic discriptions of the most important ICON features in this panel are included within the "B727 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page. All other essential panel details are well covered within the supporting manual.
We are still learning this panel ourselves, so, our support may be somewhat limited .... but .... join the fun and share your experience with us on the forum. Again .... regard this panel as BETA material only so far as HJG is concerned
7. George CARTY has provided an updated B707 PANELS GAUGES/CORE FILES package for use with all current version B707/720/C135 TYPE aircraft panels. This is our first Boeing panel's modification since December 2007.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a gauges/core files update only. There is no need to replace any current version B707/720/C135 TYPE panels or FDE (the last B707 FDE update was during November 2008). Revisions have been made to the BOOST PUMP system on the F/E panel .... which has resulted in an amendment to the engine startup procedures outlined in the "ENGINE STARTUP TUTORIAL" included within the "B707 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page. It is essential these new procedures be understood and followed .... or .... the engines simply will not start. This new B707 PANELS GAUGES/CORE FILES package also features revised AP coding which, we believe, should resolve (for the few folk who have reported these issues) any tendancy for "porpoising" during AP controlled cruise as well as instability during INS NAV mode. All 3 previous B707 gauges must be replaced with these latest versions.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: If you are an FSUIPC user it may be a good idea, though not an essential procedure, to temporarily uninstall/reinstall FSUIPC .... remembering to shutdown/restart FS between both actions (selecting at least FSUIPC imposed "MINIMUM WEATHER DEFAULTS" in the process). This is intended to force FSUIPC to recognize changes have occurred (gauge dates etc) .... because computers sometimes do strange things !
It is recommended that folk whom are new to our Boeing 707/720/C135 TYPE panels should take time to familiarize themseleves with the downloadable manual, Harerton DOURADO's excellent Fuel Managtement Tutorial, and all deatils aasociated with the "B707 PANELS INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting on the "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page.
8. Last but by no means least of all ....
Remember it's "CHRISTMAS" .... we've all been working hard to try and please everyone throughout the year and we'd like to be able to enjoy a peaceful Christmas/New Year celebration too .... right away from the FS world. For this reason be prepared for delays in respect of our responses to your forum queries throughout this festive season. Kindly bear with us please .... because we all need time to sober up and recover from hangovers too before we can even begin to start talking sense and attempting to provide intelligent advice/oppinion.
Once again everyone .... "MERRY CHRISTMAS" .... and thank you for supporting HJG through what has been yet another very interesting and challenging year.

Hey Mark,
I never had a chance to use the sound packs while we were testing. Just tried the "late" version.... VERY NICE!

Thanks Mike .... but .... it's important to remember that whilst the current B727 FDE is still a BETA version .... then so are both of these new soundpacks too.
They should be "FAR BETTER" once Benoit gives them the "ONCE OVER" later on !

Update..... I made a bit of a mistake on the Germania, Hapg Lloyd and the early American Airlines 727's, the Alpha channel was wrong so you will have very shinny wheels etc... I have corrected this and reuploaded them so they can be now re downloaded, appologies for the slip up
