Later on we're going to add a couple more VISTALINERS B727-200 3D models.
These new additions represent aircraft with early engine thrust reverser configurations, and more recent HK (Hush Kitted) engine treatments .... featuring the original clam-shell type reverser buckets, and different engine tail/exahust pipe treatments fitted to B727-200 TYPE aircraft to assist their compliance with both Stage 2 and 3 noise regulations.
Study carefully each of the following images below .... compare them with each other and note my comments too .... the differences between each should then become "QUITE OBVIOUS"
1. Here's the current B727-100 model .... with its early clam-shell/bucket type engine thrust reverser mechanism. There'll be no change whatsoever to our current B727-100 CFG asssignments for these aircraft.
2. Here's the "new" early production/classic B727-200 model .... featuring the same early clam-shell/bucket type engine thrust reverser mechanism as applied to the B727-100's. This new model will be added to our B727-200 (Early) base pack. Current CFG assignments won't need being adjusted for it.
3. Here's the current later production B727-200 ADVC model .... with standard non-hush kitted engine exhaust/tail pipes. The reverser mechanism for these engines is internal with no obvious physical animation visible externally. There'll be no changes whatsoever to current CFG assignments for B727-200 ADVC textures using this particular model version ....
4. Here's the current B727-200 RE SUPER 27 model .... representing aircraft upgraded with more powerful P&W JT8D-217/219 turbofan engines in the # 1 and # 3 outboard positions only .... whilst retaining a standard P&W JT8D TYPE fanjet engine in the center #2 engine position. Only the outboard # 1 and # 2 engines on these aircraft are fitted with later clam-shell/bucket type engine thrust reversers .... whilst the # 2 center engine reversers are disconnected on these aircraft. There'll be no change whatsoever to any CFG assignments for these aircraft ....
5. Here's the "new" B727-200 ADVC model .... with FED EX type Hush Kitted engine tail/exhust pipes (probably Stage 2 noise compliance) .... note the longer tail pipe on the end of each engine. Again the reverser mechanism for these engine is internal with no obvious physical animation visible externally. This HK engine configuration was apparently affectionately referred to by Erick CANTU as the "PIPEBOMB" ;D This new model will be added to the B727-200 ADVC base pack and a few current CFG assignments will be adjusted for it ....
6. Here's the "new" B727-200 ADVC model .... featuring engines Hush Kitted with Raisenbeck HGW Stage 3 engine exhaust/tail pipes .... note the flower/petal type flange on the end of each engine. Once again the reverser mechanism for these engines is internal with no obvious physical animation visible externally. This HK engine configuration was apparently affectionately referred to by Erick CANTU as "EXPLODED AZZ" ;D This new model will also be added to the B727-200 ADVC base pack and a few (very few) current CFG assignments adjusted for it ....
These new VISTALINERS models will be uploaded later on .... as part of a future B727 Aircraft Base Pack/FDE update .... probably to coincide with release of the new panels.
These new VISTALINERS models don't seem to impact existing texture BMP filename conventions .... so far as I've been able to detect. Less than a handful of our currenly uploaded B727-200 texture subjects will be implicated by any necessary reorganization imposed by implimentation of these new/other models anyway .... but .... I'll explain all that when the time comes.
I need to acknowledge my friend and forum colleague Bill ALICEA for drawing these new/other VISTALINERS models to my attention .... mil gracias amigo .... muy amable !
