Hi Rick
My system is
Athlon 1.4GHz AsusA7A266 motherboard 1Gb DDR RAM GeForce4 ultra 128mb graphics card Soundblaster Audidgy sound card
The textures problem was not limited to the HS748 but was most pronounced on this. I've had other aircraft with tails or one side of the fuselage completely grey. I recently replaced the power supply on my PC (up from 250W to 450W),which has helped frame rates quite dramatically. Yesterday, I downloaded the latest nVidea 84.21 drivers which seems to have cured the textures problem. I had been sticking to the 56 drivers, as anything later played havoc with the selection screens in FS9. This too is improved, with only the window showing the aircraft now blank. The HS748 is now running well (13 - 25 frames per second), with no texture problems. Thanks for your help.
One last point - shouldn't this thread really be discussed on CBFSIM?
Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin You say this thread should be discussed on CBFSIM , well this is not a 748 problem thread anyway. This thread is just about the model and was a heads up to it's launch. It was about the wonders of the package not a problem query thread. The problem/support thread is here www.cbfsim.org/cbfsimv5/cbfsbb/viewtopic.php?t=5303Regards Garry

Sorry Garry
I had no intention of being critical of this thread being here.

Hi Kevin I didn't want to sound moany but just wanted to point out that problems should never have been posted on this thread anyway so it was not the fault of the thread as such. We set up a thread as mentioned in the package to have all the queries in the one place This helps us and yourselves as your answer may already be there along with other stuff you need to know. Sorry I was just passing through quickliy so it came across a little short. ATB Garry

Hi Kevin Glad to hear you got it sorted. I'm also amazed it runs at a good framerate on there too. thats a colour typewriter not a computer ;D ;D ;D ;D If you knew how many poiys the model is i think you would be as amazed as me. It's not critical with your problem to be on CBFSIM as it's just resources really and you obv know how to make good use of what you are using . Regards Rick

Cheers Rick
My motherboard can't take a processor upgrade and new Athlon processors (940 pin) are due this summer. I hope to build a new PC for FSX.
Take care
Kevin

Downloaded it last week sometime and "WOW" is all that I can say!! Rick, your models are really top notch and I thank you for them. Very detailed and at the same time easy on fps. This is a "have to have" package for FS. All the best, Philip.
