There was a thread on the "old" HJG board regarding this, but I thought I'd mention it here because I am that impressed, and I don't think anyone striving for the ultimate in realism (aren't we all???) should miss out. If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend going to: www.classicbritishfiles.com and downloading the new sounds for the DC-8, 707, etc. Yes, they are that good! The dc-8 60 and 70 series sounds are so realistic, I got goosebumps the first time I heard them. Being a former aircraft mechanic (UAL), I have the sights, sounds and smell of the real aircraft ingrained in my mind, so hearing such an accurate representation really brings back the memories.

I can see I'm going to have to buy "CHRIS" more champaigne .... if he comtinues promoting us like that ;D YES .... Benoit PLAMONDON & myself put extra special effort into all of those soundpacks to try'n create audio as authentic as possible for each of the aircraft type/engine groups represented. If anyone's not yet familiarised themselves with the new "HJG 2006 SOUNDS PAGE" .... then please take a moment to review this and the full list of "aircraft specific" soundpacks for all our aircraft .... all downloadable from the CLASSIC BRITISH FILES website at www.classicbritishfiles.com/Mark C AKL/NZ

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a very picky person. I pick up and drop models, paints, and sound sets, in the blink of an eye if there is something not right about them. That being said... I have to agree with Chris. By far, these sounds are THE BEST I've heard so far. I am absolutely in love with them. My favorites are for the 70 series. Those engines gowl like no other at higher power settings. And for anyone who knows me well, knows that growling sound turns me on. rawr. As for the other sounds, they're all very clear and smooth. No surprises on start up, shut down, and spool up/down. The sounds aren't obnoxiously shrill either. There is a nice balance to them. So I can fly in spot view with the earphones on and the volume cranked! Take it from me, get these sound files! You won't be disappointed!

Hi all, I just want to affirm that the "New sounds for HJG jets" really sound great I have been enjoying the older and louder sounds of the early 707 & DC 8 models. I also like the 70's series too. All the engine sounds I have tried sound great both from the cockpit environment and "spot view". I recommend them to all that might read this thread. Ray Mengel Spokane, WA
