I have installed HJG_Douglas_DC-8-20_v5 and HJG_Douglas_DC-8-50F_v5. The instructions are quite simple and they seem to have installed correctly.
I cannot find the aircraft in Choose Aircraft either by looking at the manufacturer list or any manufacturer under the aircraft list.
Running FS9-SP1, Vista Home. I run all FS programs as administrator and have installed many aircraft from other producers with no issues.
Can someone help me?
Thanks

I am sure Mark will be along shortly to solve your 'problem' but in the meantime, may I assume you d/ld the Base Pack as well as the texture of your choice and included that in the *.cfg file?

Even if you made the required change in cfg with the new [flight_sim.x] section, make sure you change the "x" to "0", or the appropriate number. Even after all this time and installing dozens of HJG planes, I still forget to do that on occasion. Mike

It's always the obvious that I miss. I thought the base pack had a base texture. I loaded the texture and it works fine...
Except, being a faux expert, I loaded an updated panel for the DC-8-20 and I really like it, but the guages are missing. Am I missing something in the installation of the panel? I thought I followed the instructions very closely.
By the way, the response from you guys is exceptional. Thank you.

At the very top of the panel download window is the link to the core gauges which also must be downloaded and installed (instructions included).
Brings back memories... I also missed that gauge download on my first HJG install.

I'm very glad literacy is not a requirement for flight sim use. Sorry I missed that too.
Thanks for the help.

YEP .... ours are the best in the world .... but .... I much prefer an entire leg slow roasted then enjoyed with "copiuous quantities of dry Australian red wine" .... and a good "Blue Viene Cheese" too Ya can't beat it YEAH .... we do ! Our white Chardonay is now worldclass .... but .... I much rather prefer dry red wine from South America (Mendoza, Argentina in particular .... or anything at all from Chile ), or South Australia !
