I am trying to install the DC-9-10F. My FS9 installation is the recommended MS Games folder on the C drive instead of the programs folder. With windows 10, the portion about installation of the panel core files cannot be followed as written. Can't find the FS9 CFG location for one thing. Also as there is no FS9 folder now, what is the alternate location. I am beginning to miss my windows XP box.

One needs to appreciate the installation instructions provided with each file (and referenced within our forum based manuals too) were compiled "long before" WINDOWS 10 ever became available. FS2004 "can" be made to run within the WINDOWS 10 environment .... but .... it may require "a specific procedure" being followed in order to be able to do so successfully .... and which might also require installation of the "FS9.1" update/patch being part of the installation procedure also. The following advice (from the FS.COM forum) might help (?) .... www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?303267-FS2004-on-new-Windows-10-PC If you can get FS9 up and running within the WIMNDOWS 10 environment (again this "IS" possible .... I've seen, and used it within WINDOWS 10, but, haven't installed FS9 on this OS myself) then the FS9.CFG file will likely be a hidden file, so, you'll probably need to activate the "Show Hidden Files And Folders" option within WINDOWS 10 in order to be able to locate/see it at all. That's about all I can tell you .... other than installation of our DC-9's is pretty straight-forward in accordance with both standard FS installation protocols and those for all other HJG stuff too. All of the Panel components go to destinations which are part of the stock standard FS9 folder structure .... nothing gets installed in any folders outside of FS9 itself. The only care that must be taken is ib relation to the following .... 1. Ensure that the "GAUGESOUND.DLL" is installed inside the "FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9" folder. 2. Ensure that the "FSSOUND.DLL" file is installed inside the FS2004 "MODULES" folder .... and that its following OLD MODULES edit is then added to the FS9.CFG file (to cancel the "Potentially Incompatible Files" alert during FS9 boot-up) once its successfully located .... [OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1All of the necessary installation procedures are simplified/better explained within "PARAGRAPHS 7, 8, and 9" of "SECTION 1" of our following-linked forum based DC-9 .... DC-9 MANUALtonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/3435/hjg-panel-installation-handling-notesAgain .... it's all pretty straight-forward. Mark C AKL/NZ
