There were some very nicely done 707 paints posted around the holidays late last year. Anyone know whatever happened with these and if they are going to be made available?

Hi Expat
I have no idea which ones you are referring to but I can tell you that I did repaints of the early BOAC Golden Speedbird livery and one of BOAC Cunard. Those two will be available here shortly.

So far as I'm aware all the B707 previews posted around Christmas and earlier have been uploaded and are now available from this website.
Garry RUSSELL's beautiful early BOAC & BOAC CUNARD B707-420 liveries (redone from the earlier released versions) are definitely scheduled for next months website update.
"ALDO REGOZANI" has done some beauties which I understand are being further modified and are comming here too .... along with a couple of other great new ones he's recenly done which are also planned for next months update.
And our Camilo LUENGAS also has a couple new Latinoamericano B707 classics on approach here too.
Have faith old son .... for all shall be revealed in due course ;D

If I remember correctly, there was one with winglets?
Also, there is a nice 720-022 repaint from the 1973 Led Zepplin tour that I'm not seeing. It's by Rodrigo Pastor Pensa.

I remember the two you're thinking of. One has winglets, the other is frequently used as a tour plane by Bon Jovi, the Eagles, etc.
Both have Stage III hush kits on them.
The creator of those (an HJG member, forget which one) said they will be uploaded to this site soon.
The Led Zeppelin 720 is out there on surclaro.com. I think I found it somewhere else once too, but can't find it now.

Jim

Exactly my recollection. The one with the wing-lets had a very tasteful white and gold private paint scheme, I think. They looked great. I often try to make fictional private paint schemes out of the commercial carriers (with the obvious mixed results) so I was hopeful these might get released, they looked pretty finished back at Christmas time. This one flew the Eagles to Australia on a tour and also I think recently ran off the runway (I believe not extensive damage but you never know when an operator decides to throw in the towel on an aging a/c). www.airliners.net/open.file/0734371/L/

I may be wrong but was it not Gary Carlson the designer of the 707?? I am sure he was working on them...but I could be wrong

AH .... THOSE ONES ! OK .... as I recall the "wingleted" aircraft was by our Gary CARLSON. I suspect forward momentum with that one got screwed by announced disbandment of the old HJG. It's also highly likely Gary's still trying to refine the FDE for this one before he's comfortable releasing it. "LED ZEPPELLEN", and "ABASSADAIR" B720 repaints were approved for release and went to either AVSIM.COM or FLIGHTSIM.COM a wee while back .... and are still available there so far as I know. I'll come back to you in just a moment with the file names .... if you like Mark C AKL/NZ

OK .... just finished searching both AVSIM and FLIGHTSIM libraries for you. I found both aircraft .... there still available as follows LED ZEPELLIN B720 Available on FLIGHTSIM.COM only Filename = ledplane.zip AMBASSADAIR B720 Available on AVSIM.COM only Filename = ambassadair_boeing_720-048.zipHope that's a help As for progress regarding the "wingletted" B707: I want Gary to be able to take his time perfecting that one .... OK. Mark C AKL/NZ

Just an example of messing around with some others paints turning them into private liveries. This is one, a work in progress, Yannick did - very nice indeed - for the Transavia Holland carrier. I cut and pasted it ('fraid using MS Paint) to fit the 707 13B model - I like this a/c as a sort of classic but high performance "707SP" (as does John Travolta IRL) to go far distances.
