Regarding the erroneous high-altitude N1/N2 indications, I wonder if SGA mistakenly display CN1 and CN2 instead of N1 and N2? (IIRC the L-1011 panels which I worked on had the same fault initially...)

"VERY LIKELY" George .... and "precisely" what both myself and Mike have been thinking too .... and which I'd like to have a chat with regarding also, if I may, but, much later on.

Just out of curiosity guys and gals.........If a payware company were to do a pretty highly detailed DC-10 with VC what would Y'all want to see? What features would be important to you? I hope I'm not mercilessly flamed for asking such a question! Stan

"VERY NICE INDEED" Jim !
"A question best posed on our PAYWARE forum" .... BUT .... to digress momentarily and "just for the sake of your question" ....
My understanding is that a reasonably good payware DC10 .... with a VC already exists .... in the form of the CLS offering.
What I've been dedicated promoting "HERE" ....on this thread and over the past few weeks ..... is the "FREEWARE" (only) product by Erick CANTU .... in collaboration with SGA and VL

Recently completed my own Pan Am version for the 10. I present Clipper "Star Gazer". Hornit, Very nice paint. When you said "for the ten", do you mean DC-10-10 OR do you mean DC-10 OR do you mean FSX only as FSX is sometimes nicknamed FS10?? Just trying to figure out what you mean by words "for the 10". I like your paint!!! Is it SGA? Aharon

In case anyone (whom might have been following this thread earlier on) is wondering .... I´m "STILL" fiddling with these (and related projects discussed here-in) .... as time and commitments permit Through minor FDE modifiation .... I might have gotten the high altitude N2 engine instrument indications (using the SGA panel version and gauge set constantly featured thoughout this thread) sorted .... OR .... there might not have been a major problem here to start with .... meaning .... what I reported earlier (about N1´s starting to exceed N2´s) might simply have been a consequence (a common FS gauge reflet) of flying with too fast/with too much power set .... which can, in some panels, cause N1 to start exceeding N2 engine gauge indications. I recently had this model/FDE, panel/gauge combination up to FL310 .... with a full load .... and was flying at around MACH 0.81/0.82 (which is about right for a DC10) .... and everything, engine indication-wise, then seemed quite normal/within acceptable limits. Exceeding this speed though .... everything then started to became quite a different story. Mark C BOG/CO

I thought mach 0.83 is normal cruising speed for DC-10-30? I have been using mach 0.83 at FL340 to FL360 and fuel consumption rate seems normal to me for SGA DC-10-30.
Is mach 0.83 incorrect cruising speed for this plane?

Nope, the only ones who use 0.83 is the US Air Force. Civilian models are kept down a bit. Typically it's actually 0.80 Mach cruise.

MACH 0.80 .... would, probably, result in even better N1/N2 engine gauge indications (FS panel related I mean) in that case.

This brings back a few memories for me .... from when I was jump seating across the Pacific (between Auckland/New Zealand and Papeete/Tahiti) aboard UTA FRANCH AIRLINES DC10-30´s .... which I did a few times with this airline during the late 1980´s and early 1990´s .... A roughly 30 minute video .... shot aboard a UTA DC10-30 en-route between Tokyo/Japan and Noumea/New Caledonia ....www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUtFHave9lQThroughtout this video there´s a lot of panning across the instruments .... which are very readable .... and basically confirm Chris´s suggested MACH cruise speed numbers .... and which also tends to support the MACH cruise airspeed conclusions I´ve arrived at in regard to N1/N2 indications in the panel I´ve been using with the DC10´s previewed here on this thread.
