Gents.
On the 747 the fan blades are removed, and several fairings are installed to streamline the installation. There is also a lock plate fitted in place of the starter to prevent the N2 from rotating.

Is that the Garret in-flight test stand B720? They were always famous for that kind of stuff. The first TPE331 turbo-prop engine proto flew on a modified Piper 24 Commanche!
