Ok flag moved to front, GE logos reduced in size and the day textures are finalized, I think. The last thing left to do is the night textures, the night windows are a mess just as you pointed out, so I'll have to edit each one manually, that's going to take a while, so I'm taking a break for a bit.

Ok left side night textures! What do you guys think? I made sure closed windows aren't lit as well as closed parts of windows and made sure they all match each window.

Good feedback! With that said, I'll go ahead and complete the right side night textures and then, take her out for a nice long 3+ hour flight. Then go all out in the screen shots forum ) If only you knew how anxious us painters get when we put so much work into something and we just want to fly it. It's like being really hungry and knowing you have to cook the food and sit there and watch the food cook and you know you can't eat it until it is cooked!

Nice night-textures. Maybe I have found one thing which disturbs the nice image:
The left-wing engine looks too 'bright' compared to the rest of the nightly-fuselage. Is this intented or can you do something against it. The rest of the fuselage (window-line and tail-light) looks perfect to me.
I can imagine how intensive the work of a painter is: I tried to modify the dalight windows of the 767-300 (from POSKY) from the virtual airline I'm flying for. the daylight window-line were too low, so that at night the lit window-line were much higher positioned than the normal daylight windows. I got it alligned as much as I could, so that the result is ok for me and my flying.

That's because there is a light bulb on the MD-11 that illuminates the engine nacelles. According to the paint kit this seems to be intended.
On the real MD-11 tho this illumination is on the inboard side of the engines, your right, I'll look into this a bit and see what is going on there, they shouldn't be as visible like that.

Thanks for the info. I'm darn sure that that your DC-8 will be awsome when I see your talents as aircraft-creator and -painter. The HJG-team must be proud to have you in their team.

Ok here is what I found... Here is a real md-11 www.flickr.com/photos/news46/3981590471/sizes/z/in/photostream/You can see that only the inboard side of the engines are lit but not the outboard side. Here is my repaint with all lights turned off. Here it is again with all lights turned on. So the reason this happens is because of the way flight sim handles the lighting on the aircraft model. Nothing I can do about it really. If I could remove the lights, it would probably look the way it is supposed to be but I don't know if the lights are BUILT INTO the model or if they are placed in that location using LIGHT nodes from aircraft.cfg. Even if I could remove the lights ... there is no way I can upload the model with a modified aircraft.cfg because OVERLAND prohibits uploading full working packages, they specifically state on the repaint kit to distribute only the textures and nothing more. Nothing I can do about it! Thank you for those kind words, I am sure they are! I'm glad to be a part of HJG and all they have to offer! I also just realized I have wing night textures as well and it appears the lights for the windows are all way off on the wing reflection so now I have to work on that!

She is completed! Just rolled out of the paint hangar and into one of the gates at EGLL for her first flight to JFK! Yeah I go long haul tonight Thank you Aharon for your great feedback in helping to shape her! I can join an FS Host server if anyone would like to join me?

Oh wow, lol found some booboos I had to correct. I forgot to throw in the alpha channels for the night textures! Yes night textures have alpha channels, they are usually composed of black and white ... black being the part that shows when you turn off the landing lights!
