"MEIN BRUDER"/my brother .... aka "VON DRINKOFTEN" .... buggers-around, a lot, with a very popular payware WW1 combat flight simulation program entitled "RISE OF FLIGHT" .... and which really aint bad at all. Here's a video .... featuring a selection of combat scenes (probably recorded during online sessions) spliced together using this ROF comabt simulation and which, I thought, has been "VERY WELL DONE" .... especially as this particular video actually starts with a very brief review of modern combat aircraft and goes backwards in time/chronology to 1917 .... and which, I feel, really helps capture/emphasize the WW1 era which ROF is dedicated to representing .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVzBN47Enqo&list=FLyD-L27WJ99-1v8Z1Dl0Xxg&index=120ENJOY Mark C AKL/NZ

Here's another look at "RISE OF FLIGHT" .... with somewhat "satirical" overtones this time (entitled the "THE RISE OF FLIGHT - WIFE EDITION") .... featuring a selection of some the best crash scenes (by this guys wife .... whom. like most wives, used to get bored watching her husband waste time flying ROF .... and was, eventually, persuaded by him, to have a go herself .... for better or worse) recorded using the ROF WW1 combat flight simulation, but, also assembled to the musical theme of THE BENNY HILL SHOW .... and which is actually, and quite amusingly too, very well presented indeed .... along with some of his wifes comments (as she endeavoured to fly this simulation) at the very end and which really put the icing on the cake .... riseofflight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=346&t=39545 ENJOY ONCE AGAIN Mark C AKL/NZ

Here's, yet, another look/video, based on "RISE OF FLIGHT" ALSO .... this one being, essentially, a re-enactment of a famous WW1 aerial engagement on September 23rd 1917 .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKspJtIMPH0Mark C AKL/NZ

"MEIN BRUDER" (my brother) buggers around, a lot, with a very popular payware WW1 combat flight simulation program entitled "RISE OF FLIGHT" .... and which really aint bad at all. I tried to download this game (Rise of Flight) in November but the game crashes when there has to be done an update, at least on my PC. Well, therefore I play World of Tanks, which uses a lot of vintage tanks. I must say, I´ve never been interested in tanks before...BUT...playing this game changed this condition. Maybe there is someone among us who played Sierra´s Red Baron II. This is (beside Wings for Amiga) my all time favourite in WWI-Combat-games. BTW Mark, do you have german ancestors? It is the first time for me to see you writing in Deutsch. Hermann

Ich spreche Duetch nicht/I don't speak German .... Ich habe keine deutsche Familie auch/I don't have any German family either .... but .... I do like messing around (in all due respect) with "a lot of different language" from all around the world .... in a "psuedo sense" only and especially at "PARTY TIME" I can identify with that .... since I enjoy collecting and building tank models in both 1:72 and 1:35 scale .... and then researching them in the process in order to try'n "super detail" (improve them beyond the kit supplied parts) and which then also includes authentically colouring/painting them too. I'm actually building an old 1945/46 era JOSEPH STALIN JS-3 at the moment. I'd certainly like to be able to get to the TANK FEST at the BOVINGTON TANK MUSEUM (I believe it is) .... as well as another similar presentation at DUXFORD (I think it is) too .... sometime in the near future. Wow, that´s some nice evil tank, that IS-3. In WOT this "Panzer" is Tech Level 8 (from 10 possible) and is played by a lot of eople, due to its hilarious gun. At the moment I am working to reach the higher levelled German Tanks, such as Tiger or Königstiger (=Tiger II). The last one is the german pendant of the IS-3 in this game. Since I have been playing WOT (I began about July 2013), I missed to go to Austrian Museums to see these Steel Beasts in natura, but this year there should be no excuse for this Hermann

Last December I saw a TV documentary recently apparently devoted to WOT and which looked "quite interesting" As I recall .... it was stated within this particular TV documentary that the developers of WOT may be "conteplating" capitalizing upon its success to "possibly" develop similarly oriented WW2 fighter aircraft and warship expansions of the WOT program. I guess we can only wait'n'see what develops Mark C AKL/NZ

"World of Warplanes" (WOWP) already exists, actually. I tried it out before but it´s much too Arcade-like, meaning that it is more a fun- and dexterity- game, less a simulation, not even really close to it. worldofwarplanes.com/www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1zU2YdqXeE Gameplay Trailer The Warship game is in the Alpha-Progress-Stage and has not been released officially yet. I am eager to play it one day! BTW "Panzer": Could you post some pics of your Tank Model Collection, Mark? I like to see highly detailed models Hermann

AN ARCADE-like GAME .... that "REALLY SUCKS" then I thought (based on what i saw in the TV dicumentary) that WOP was something more/better than that Stick to "RISE OF FLIGHT" or "IL2" for your combat challenges then in that case folks .... unless you want to try flying/wrestling with the complexities of A10 WARTHOG I'd be glad to (and includeamong these some of my other models too) .... under normal circumstances .... BUT .... now's not the right time since I'm just a wee bit too busy, at the moment, in regard to real world business matters .... and not to mention trying to put an HJG ugrade project through it final paces prior to public release too I'll see what I can do though .... probably sometime in the future and when the dust starts to settle Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark, well, WoWP is, in fact arcade-like, but therefore you have a lot of planes which you can fly. And you don´t need to pay for it. My Problem with this game was: I never had the feeling, that I was in a real WWII-Air-Battle. The principle of this game is nearly completely identical to WOT, but there it fits much more to create an warlike-atmosphere. And yes, ROF or IL-2 seem to be the much better alternative for combat flying. Panzer-Pics: Post them (and maybe your planes too) whenever you like Hermann

Hermann .... I've edited your above posting .... only to the extent of copying & pasting your CV880 related panel query to a new thread which I created, for you, on the "CONVAIR SUPPORT" forum page Doing this, I feel, might, in future, benefit more folk whom might have reason to similarly enquire Mark C AKL/NZ

That's correct .... the JS-3 JOSEPH STALIN tank was also known as the IS-3 IOSEF STALIN tank. It was, apparently, developed from the earlier KV series of Russian tanks. This (TAMIYA 1:35 scale) JS-3 model isn't my own, but, is very similar to the one I'm currently working on .... as time permits .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP8_ixJ5ws8Mark C AKL/NZ
