Hi All,
A really dumb question (probably) in FS 2004 one can access various views by clicking shift+ (a number 1 to 9), there are a number of other views listed in the aircraft panel file numbered 10, 11, 12 etc. how does one access these?

If you're meaning in relatiion to standard "interior" panel views (for those panels which feature these) .... such as forward left, left, left rear, rear, right rear, right, forward right intrerior panel view perspectives .... then these are all accessed per the numeric key pad .... per numbers 7, 4, 1, 2, 2, 6, and 9 keyboard commands respectively.
Other "sub" paqnel views .... suc as radio stack, overhead, weather radar, center pedestall, INS, and others .... are commanded into view using either SHIFT 1, or 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 keyboard commands (all prefixed by the the "SHIFT" keyboard command first and then follwed by an actual "number").
I think some view options written into some CFG files may actually require ACTIVE CAMERA to be installed first in order to be able work .... BUT .... I'm not entirely sure.

Mog. I think you may be referring to additional views you can access with SHIFT +NUMKEY 1 - 9. The entries for these in your panel.cfg file are then, for example (looking right at 90 degrees): VIEW_RIGHT_WINDOWS=31 VIEW_RIGHT_EYE=-0.000, 0.000, -0.000 VIEW_RIGHT_DIR=0.000, 0.000, 90.000 VIEW_RIGHT_UP_EYE=-4.800, 0.600, -31.000 VIEW_RIGHT_UP_DIR=2.500, 0.000, 95.000 "View_right" refers to looking right with just the #6 NUMKEY, and "view_right_up" to SHIFT + #6 NUMKEY the additional view. The example above is what I use for the POSKY 777-200ER in which the "UP" views give me my right wing view of 95 degrees, while the normal one has a cockpit interior bitmap attached to it, which I entered towards the end of my panel.cfg just before the Vcockpit entries: [Fixed Window31] file=right.bmp position=7 visible=0 ident=31 render_3d_window=1 window_size= 1.000, 1.000 window_pos= 0.000, 0.000 Hope that helps, Albert

Hi again, Sorry for the delay in replying but I've had big problems with the electric brick, anyway pretty much sorted now, ok and on.. firstly thanks for the responses aerophoto and tokolosh, right no numeric keypad, it's a laptop, so access is only through the shift+1-9 system, so I can only access 1st officers panel, radar (more of that in a second),O.head panel, autopilot and radio panel anyway you get the idea, the point is in the panel cfg. there are over 10 windows so is it possible to access them or would I have to somehow list them in another form in the specific config ie. the ctrl+. = parking brake applied shift+/ = lift dumpers?
I said more of the radar in a second, I know this is naughty but I recently downloaded and installed the texture for the later Finnair colour scheme, all well and good except whenever I use it the radar is placarded inop!! it doesn't happen with any of the other DC9-50 textures any ideas why this is?

"THIS" .... I might be help you/advise regarding The weather Radar unit installed in all HJG panels (those equipped with the George CARTY version at least ..... B707/720, B727, CV880, CV990, DC8, DC9, and L1011 .... the other HJG hosted panels don't feature it) is dependent upon Pete DOWSON's FSUIPC. PLEASE NOTE .... one "DOES NOT" require a paid/licensed version of FSUIPC in this particular case and order for this Weather Radar unit to then be able to function. An unlicensed/un-paid version of FSUIPC (for ones particular sim version of choice) .... with it's "DEAFULT OPTIONS" (only) activated .... is, in this particular case, all that's necessary "IF" .... one doesn't have FSUIPC installed (in either licensed or unlicensed form) .... THEN .... the Weather Radar unit will always display an "INOP" placard/tape and won't/can't work. One should be able to get FSUIPC from the follwing address .... www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlAgain .... just be sure to download either the FS2004 or FSX specific version .... for ones particular FS installation of choice. Typically .... that's all (as above) that's necessary to resolve this. It's odd though that, you say, the Weather Radar works with the DC9 panel, but, apparently not with the other. Precisely which other aircraft/panel are we talking about here ? Are you sure you sure you're using currently downloadable panel versions from "THIS" (the HJG) website .... along with their respective supporting Gauges/Core Files too .... and not those that might have been obtained from elsewhere (per non-sanctioned/unauthorised re-releases of HJG hosted or owned files/material) in those cases where, you say, the Weather Radar doesn't appear to work or is otherwise placarded "INOP " ? I only know of one other report (during the past 8 years) where someone reported something like this, but, I can't recall how .... or even if .... that particular experience was ever resolved. This is an extremly rare issue. Based on what I've mentioned above .... one shouldn't be experiencing any such problems though "IF" everything has been installed correctly (namely that all gauges related files need to be installed inside the FS "GAUGES" folder). Thanks for that aerofoto, you're absolutely bang on with that one, I mentioned that my electric brick was playing up, well part of the fix meant uninstalling FS2004, of course being me I forgot to reinstall FSUIPC, now I've done that everything is back to normal, well as normal as anything I touch ever is! On the subject of FSUIPC, I have a registered version but I see there is a later version out, how does one update, just copy the new one over the top? and does one then have to register again using the original registration or does it mean an additional payment? Ok, back to the original thread subject, the reason I need to access more than the 9 windows accessible using shift + 1-9 is as yet I haven't got a yoke so I am using "mouse as yoke gauge" which works fine except I have to put it at the end of the shift + 1-9 list effectively it would be shift + 10 and I'm at a loss to understand how I can access it, so any ideas?

PS forgot to say thank you to aerofoto so Thanks aerfoto!

I'm not actually sure how FSUIPC registration system (or what, if any, impositions apply when upgrading from one version to another) .... since even I, myself, have only ever used it in "unlicensed" form (which I'm very content with) and using just it's "MINIMUM DEFAULTS" option.
If FSUIPC is obtained from Pete DOWSON's space at SCHIRATTI.COM .... then .... one shouldn't have anything but the latest/current version available.
FYI .... HJG simulations only dependence on FSUIPC is in order for the Weather Radar units to be able function .... in those panels (which I mentioned above) that are equipped with George CARTY's own version.
Otherwise .... it's simply "not required" .... unless someonme wants/needs to be able to manipulate some of the inner workings of FS (such as certain weather displays etc) which aren't so easily accessible, or are unaccessible, per the available default MSFS selection tabs or the FS CFG.FILE .... or additionally .... in order to be able to aid the calibration of some kinds multi-function type controller devices and which "DO" then require a "fully licended" version of FSUIPC.

Ok, I have always believed that if you don't fully understand something don't mess about with it, so I'll leave it alone, I have downloaded the latest FSUIPC and it has overwritten the one I paid for, it then asked me if I wished to register which I declined, when I first downloaded FSUIPC I did pay and register because I believe Pete Dowson should get some recompense for all his work it's only fair, I might contact their website and ask the question if I do I'll post the response back here.
Thanks for that aerofoto.

I have a paid version that I purchased years ago. I have updated it several times. Each time I upgrade the new program always shows that it is registered. Just follow the upgrade instructions on Pete's website.

Hi,
You use the View menu in FS9, not sure about FSX but I believe there is an equivalent. I think you right click the screen and a pop up menu appears?
