Yea so I decided to paint up a non-EA 727-100 (well sort of, guess who leased Air Niagara it's 2 721s?) from this short lived carrier of the early 80s. High Res: OneTwoThreeHope everyone likes it, I'll slip it into the ones I've sent Mark for the next update

"NICE/COLOURFUL" livery That 2nd shot is particularly "nicely positioned/backgrounded" by some great virtual local/national geography too .... the Niagaro Falls I presume ! Mark C BOG/CO

AIR NIAGARA B727-25 N8101N (1983)Just been looking at the history of this particular B727-100 .... and it turns out to be quite a significant aircraft as it was the first ever production B727-100 .... C/N 18252 .... L/N 8 .... delivered to EASTERN AIR LINES (N8101N - fleet number 101) on February 22 1964. During its service with EASTERN this particular aircraft was also leased to ACES COLOMBIA (HK-2717X) from October 23rd 1981 until December 7th 1981. It was then leased to AIR NIAGARA (N1801N) from May 13th 1982 .... and sold to that airline (N1801N) on August 15th 1982. This aircraft was then acquired by the FIRST SECURITY BANK OF UTAH during February 1983 .... and leased back to AIR NIAGARA (N1801N) .... and was reposessed by EASTERN AIR LINES on July 23rd 1983. It was then leased to McCLAIN AIRLINES (N1801N) from December 10th 1986 until mid-late 1987 (specific date unknown). The aircraft was eventually sold by EASTERN AIR LINES to GRUPPO PROTEXA (XA-GBP) on November 11th 1987. It was then sold to AERO EJECUTIVOS SA (XA-GBP) during June 1990 .... and which was renamed AEROEXO on May 1st 1993. This particular aircraft was eventually withdrawn from service during January 1994 and stored at Mexico City .... and then broken up during August 1994. AIR NIAGARA was on of the many late 1970´s deregulation startups. The airlins was founded during 1980 and based at Niagara Falls International Airport .... from where it serviced both Newark and New Jersey .... operating 2 B727-100´s initiatlly leased from EASTERN AIR LINES (N8101N and N8104) .... and in anticipation of its tourist based jet operations to the Niagara region (the only airline to do so around this time) propelling the airline to profitability. This did not come to pass and AIR NIAGARA ceased operations during 1984. Mark C BOG/CO
