This´s John TRAVOLTA´s classic/private B707-13B .... formerly registered N707JT and named "JETT CLIPPER ELLA" .... re-registered "N1703D" and renamed "JET CLIPPER MAJESTIC" and supporting the 1960´s era "PAN AMERICAN" titles and period fuselage stripe .... painted by Tony MADGE ....
JOHN TRAVOLTA/PAN AM/QANTAS B707-138B N1703D "Jet Clipper Majestic" (2011)
During October 2011 this particular aircraft was used, as liveried, as the prop for an ABC television drama series episode of "PAN AM".
The aircraft also retained its classic 1960´s era QANTAS V-JET tail livery (making this quite an interesting hybrid livery) which it´s supported since TRAVOLTA´s "Spirit Of Friendship Tour" of early 2002 and throughout duration of his association with QANTAS AIRWAYS as a roving/honorary ambassador to the Australian airline.
Although the aircraft type is real world .... as is the partial PAN AM livery supported by it also .... in reality PAN AMERICAN never actually operated the B707-138/B (a shorter longer-ranging version of the B707-120/B tailored by BOEING to meet the requiremnts of QANTAS AIRWAYS long trans-Pacific routes to the USA and beyond).
This particular subject is similar to that of the ficticious TRANS GLOBAL AIRLINES livery which "WAS" supported by a real world FLYING TIGERS B707-320C during filming of the very first "AIRPORT" movie of 1970. A bit of "bullnuts and reality" combined here .... just for the sake of the silver screen .... and since there are very few B707 aircraft candidates remaining around the world today with which to achieve such theatrical goals .... or at least as was the case with this recent "PAN AM" television production. Such subjects do justify HJG´s representation of them .... subject to the willingness of the groups painters to want to represent them of course
