Hi
This issue has unfortunately come up again, so I feel I need to re-state this difference between FSX and FS9...
The CONCORDE VISOR EXTEND and CONCORDE VISOR RETRACT function we know from FS9, is NOT, and I repeat, NOT modelled the same way in FSX.... sadly.
Well sort of.... because the concorde visor funtionality in FSX has been split up into a few more specified commands, but thus alas lost the compatability with FS9...
So, what does this mean for FS9 model-port-overs to FSX?
Well, the animation that was supposed to be carried out with the CONCORDE VISOR RETRACT or - EXTEND .... do not work in FSX... though luck.
Until the model is either compiled with another function that is common between FSX and FS9, or compiled as a genuine FSX model (hence using the new FSX-specific functionality) this is what we end up with.
Sorry, but that is just how it is :-)

I do believe that there is an FSX specific Concorde model available at Flightsim if anyone is interested.

"THANKS" Herman The main thrust behind Dan posting this memo/information is in regard to the CONCORDE VISOR EXTEND/RETRACT keyboard commands within FS OPTIONS/CONTROLS/ASSIGNMENTS .... rather than the actual CONCORDE model/s. What happened is .... We recently had "a community friend" enquire, of me, privately, as to how to make the forward airstairs animation work on the HJG DC9 and MD80/90 models .... since this animation is represented in both models and works on the basis of the abovementioned keyboard command assignments .... "in FS2004" at least .... What I didn't realise though .... through not being an FSX user myself .... is that the CONCORDE VISOR EXTEND/RETRACT keyboard commands, whilst represented in FSX, work quite differently in this sim version .... and consequently this particular DC9 and MD80/90 model animation (and the same will also apply too in regard to the B707/720 freighter cargo door aimations) won't work in FSX .... unfortunately Mark C AKL/NZ

Nice shot Dan. I find it amazing that the MD-90,even though it's fuselage length has been considerably lengthened from the DC-9, it looks as if it's wing is still the size of the original DC-9.
