I was surprised that someone messed up with the Dan Air 727-200 texture on the site.
The aircraft.cfg has the plane as a 1986 aircraft.
it enterered service with Dan Air in 1980. I was on it, and if you check on the Dan Air remembered site, you'll find they comnfirm it. I was a mere aviation journalist back then. Maiden flights were good freebies, even if the aircraft was old..3

"EVERYTHING's fine there. The download information .... as well as that applied to the CFG file .... along with the texture folder name too .... are all "correct" The aircraft being queried .... B727-234 ADV G=BHNE, c/n # 21676, L/N # 1417 .... was first delivered to STERLING AIRWAYS as OY-SBD on November 230th 1978. It was then sold to DAN-AIR on March 20th 1980 (just as you say) .... then sold to NORTHERN LAKES EQUITY on November 1st 1991 and leased to SUN COUNTRY AIRLINES, as N285SC, from March 1992 until September 12th 2001 when it was returned to NORTHERN LAKES EQUITY, and then finally withdrawn from service and stored at Opa Locka, Florida, from October 2002. In summary .... "G-BHNE" supported/flew in that particular variation of DAN-AIR livery represented by Tony/HJG and whilst still operated by the airline during the mid 1980's .... .... and which is what the stated "1986" date/s refer to .... For future clarification .... Whatever dates are stated are simply "LIVERY PERIOD" dates only (in other words the aircraft flew in the particular livery variation depicted during tha stated period) .... and shouldn't be interpreted as being the date upon which an aircraft was delivered/acquired or otherwise first entered service with any particular operator. I was aboard that aircraft i that livery on it's maiden Dan Air flight in April 1980. So the cfg saying it was 1986 (a LIVERY date) as you claim Is wrong.
Hey, most foklk don't care about these things. I do.

"JOHNDLEWIS" .... I don't think you're reading what I'm replying .... and if you are, then, it seems you're not, really, understanding/following what I'm trying to communicate .... I regret to observe Beyond the information I've provided in response to your above analyses/commentary I'll give this "just one more try" .... simplified this time and as follows .... 1. The aircraft (B727-2900 ADV G-BHNE) was acquired by DAN-AIR during 1980. 2. The aircraft supported the variation of DAN-AIR livery represented by Tony (as provided by HJG) from that time. 3. This particular livery then remained on this particular aircraft until it was sold during 1991. MEANINING .... A. The aircraft supported this livery "during 1986" also .... and which is the "chronological reference" date used by Tony for the sake of this particular livery/texture .... and which is what I've endeavoured to try'n communicate. B. By virtue of the above facts the "1986" date stated within this particular texture file name, and its texture folder name, and all of its supporting ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data too ..... is therefore "QUITE CORRRECT". I trust I've now been "sufficiently clear" Whether or not you flew on this particular aircraft, and when, along with anything else of that sort of nature too is "IRRELEVENT" .... really Mark C AKL/NZ

GOTCHA. I did read it, but the dating convention made no logical sense to me, so I was sure you couldn't mean that. THANKS for simplifying it for my aging brain.

It's normal to date the repaint to the photos that you use. There will be variations during the life of the scheme. So the textures are dated from the material used not when the scheme or aircraft first entered service in those colours. That's the easy way to remember it Paul
