Hello everyone!
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but are there any plans for developing a (FSX) Boeing 747-200 from HJG? There's a huge gap when it comes to classic 747's, and the only a/c that I know of is CLS's 742 which is IMHO, horrible. Project Opensky had a nice model, but nothing in the way of panels and systems simulation, and the best 742 for FS9 (Ready For Pushback) isn't even remotely compatible with FSX.

We've only just re-released Erick's DC10's .... and that was a 3 year project .... and one which is still being developed/improved .... SO .... I doubt very much (at this stage) HJG will release the B747 classics .... short of some other group dying and willing theirs to us TO BE PERFECTFLY HONEST WITH YOU THOUGH .... Hiroshi IGAMI's B747, series released by POSKY, are "THE VERY BEST FREEWARE VERSIONS AVAILABLE".Despite demise of the POSKY team all of these original files "ARE" still downloadable from the following custodian website .... poskyarchive.com/"So far as I'm aware" .... these models, and their textures, are FSX portable .... and I further understand that FSX specific FDE files are provided among the many updates for these simulations and which are also available from the above custodian website. No panels .... VC or 2D .... were ever developed by POSKY though .... so .... one's stuck with either the default Fs2004 B747-400 panel (and it's equivalent within FSX) for "the lot" I'm afraid Michael VERLIB (if I recall correctly) developed "A MERGE" for the POSKY B747's and the RFPB B747 panel/s and which was (I think) released at eiher AVSIM.COM or FLIGHTSIM.COM .... BUT OTHERWISE .... these particular panel/s are by far the best/most authentic (and by implicfation the most complex too) currently available for FS .... BUT .... as you say .... they "ARE NOT" FSX portable/compatible There may be other FSX (and FS2004) portable B747 classic panel/s options though .... BUT .... I can't advise regarding these Mark C AKL/NZ

There are Ken Mitchell panels available for the 747 classics (747-200 & 300), analogue and ribbon, with or without INS. Just do a search on AVSIM or Flightsim. For the 400 series the panel that comes with the Posky downloads is quite OK, just put in the extra features you want. Alternatively there is a 747-400 panel by Chris Jeanne, file name 7474cj2.zip. It's important to follow the POSKY readme instructions when installing third party panels in order for the utilities and nosewheel steering to work. Greetings, Albert

The KM B747 panels might be a more easily adaptable options for the POSKY B747 simulations .... BUT .... the problem (in "TELLY's" case at least) is they aren't FSX portable/compatible .... so far as I'm aware. SO THEN .... there is a B747 panel associated with the POSKY simulations .... is there ? Or is it simply a re-hash of the default MSFS B747 panel ? I've been involved with the painting of the following POSKY B747-100's and -200's .... B747-238B VH-EBK (1985) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased from QANTAS AIRWAYS - painted by Camilo LUENGASB747-238B VH-EBB (1987) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased from QANTAS AIRWAYS - painted by Camilo LUENGASB747-123 VH-EEI (1988) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased through QANTAS AIRWAYS - painted by Camilo LUENGASB747-238B VH-EBJ (1989) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased from QANTAS AIRWAYS - painted by Camilo LUENGASB747-219B ZK-NZY (1993) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased from AIR NEW ZEALAND - painted by Camilo LUENGASB747-238B DQ-FJE (1996) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased from QANTAS AIRWAYS - painted by Camilo LUENGASB747-238B DQ-FJE (2003) "Island Of Viti Levu" - leased from QANTAS AIRWAYS - painted by Camilo LUENGAS.... BUT .... beyond being the instagator behind these 7 txture releases .... and responsible the above preview image generating test flyig (using the basic MSFS default B747-400 panel only) .... "YUCK") I've never actually (seriously) flown either of these 7 subjects each of which are avauilable at FLIGHTSIM.COM .... search "747 LUENGAS". Nor have I become (personally) familiar with any other panel options available for these .... beyond those I've hinted (above) being remotely aware of. Mark C AKL/NZ

>>.... and that was a 3 year project .... and on which is still being developed/improved<< And generally speaking, for any new model, I can confirm that. Just ask me! But it's OK to ask. New folks come into the forum all the time. It's good to restate these facts from time to time. Dee

Yes Mark, it is a re-hash of the default 747-400 panel, which you wouldn't want to use with earlier 747s anyway! I'm afraid I can't advise on anything for FSX as I don't use it.

Thanks for all your replies! (Sorry for the delay, but it was Orthodox Easter and the family has my undivided attention! lol).
I'll look into Ken Mitchell's panels, and if needed, I can make small changes in order for them to work. BTW, those are some awesome liveries Mark!
I'm pretty "okay" with basic panel building and coding... if I could find another person with skills in drawing 2D cockpit textures, we could team up and make some nice panels; even transform some HJG 4:3 panels for 16:9/16:10 monitors!

"THANKS" .... each of them are real world (as operated individually by FJ/AIR PACIFIC .... now "FIJI AIRWAYS") .... since we represented the entire fleet, or rather, each aircraft used by the airline between 1985 and 2003 .... covering both P&W JT9D and RR RB211 poowered aircraft versions.
Again .... each are4 currently downloadable from FLIGHTSIM.COM .... just search "AIR PACIFIC B747" or "CAMILO LUENGAS" .... and you'll find them .... and "ALL" were painted usuing he POSKY PSD files and tcustomized for the POSKY B747-100/200 models.
