Hello everyone!
I'd like to pick your brains on the subject of thrust settings during take-off, climb and cruise for the HJG 727-200 Adv (Probst panel).
After doing some digging on the net, I haven't really found what the thrust settings should be for the different stages of flight, and would appreciate some help on the subject so I can correctly fly this amazing aircraft!
Thank you! Telly

To save me writing something of potentially MAGNA CARTA length and complxity .... Have a look at the "BASIC FLYING GUIDES section (the 3rd section) within my following service thread .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/2382/b727-panels-installation-handling-notesWithin these guides I've prescribed the best weight adjustment (per fuel adjustment only) for MGW departures .... as well as T/O thrust setting/s .... and after T/O and cleanup power adjustment/s .... along with ROC adjustment/s right throughout any climb toward cruising altitude .... and for each individual B727 aircraft type simulation. The primary difference between each of the B727 type aircraft simulations currently reprsented by HJG is in regard to their certified weight and engine thrust capabilities, so, each simulation "DOES" perform slightly differently on these accounts. The data I've compiled was based on my observations during pre-release testing. It isn't based on actual realworld B727 flight performance data .... BUT .... is (apparently) close .... according to past forum feedback. One may note (from my prescribed handling procedures) that I use a technique commonly known as "ATTITUDE FLYING" .... in that after T/O and cleanup I reduce/select a certain power setting .... which then remains constant throughout the climb .... and I then adjust the ROC throughout the climb .... at various stages .... as required to maintain a pretty constant airspeed all the way up to cruising altitude .... without actually further adjusting power settings .... until settling into the cruise. This procedure does require a bit of concentration, and skill, but, if applied properly, then, the technique does work quite well .... for me at least A feature built into each of the PROBST/HJG/CARTY B727 panels is the F/E report .... which, on the basis of constantly changing weight, due to fuel burn-off, determines maximum (economic) cruising altitude .... and advises when this may be further increased. I think this particular feature works in FSX too, but, I can't confirm that. My above linked flying guide should work well .... so apply it for starters. Mark C AKL/NZ
