One of the biggest obstacles I hear to older, classic aircraft becoming established in FSX is that they are not used much anymore, and it can be difficult to find realistic routes and schedules for them. That is why, for the past year, I have been creating this, a database tool with millions of flights and hundreds of airlines that will give users real flights, flight numbers, departure/arrival times, even registrations to use in their flights, from all sorts of different time periods in aviation. In an ideal world, I would like to have one set of schedules for each airline from each decade since 1950, and then schedules every two years since 2008 as well. Most of the modern airlines are up to date with full data sets for that second, modern era (AI traffic files are great sources). However, now I'm working on expanding, refining, and fleshing out the historical schedules, and need help getting time-table data for them.
I know HJG is primarily aircraft-focused and doesn't really have an AI schedule department, but I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of very knowledgeable enthusiasts here who might be able to help. I know of this wonderful site with a huge collection of full timetables, but most are for the 1950-1960 period and before, and there isn't much that I can find for 1970+. The folks over at CalClassic have been very helpful as well, but again that's primarily restricted to 1960 and before. OAG books are a possibility, but they can be expensive and hard to find, and I'd like to avoid that if possible.
I'll take any leads or pointers that people my have. I'm looking for any hard-to-find historical timetables from airlines that also include the aircraft type for the flights. My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, I figured it was fairly general and had the best chance of being seen here. If anyone knows of a dedicated forum or discussion board more pertinent to this request, I'd appreciate it.
Currently, I would really like to find:
thanks
