I suspect that like everyone here, I'm not a big fan of Apple. This goes way back to the Macintosh which was easy to use but at the expenses of bloated operating system. I don't think they have changed much However, I do have an ipod which I really like. I've discovered that it really seems to help FS run a bit smoother (no real quantitative data) if I do two things: fresh reboot before running FS, AND disable all the Apple programs. I go into the Task Manager, and turn off all the following using the "disable tree" command so that all the tentacles of the Apple programs get shut down: AppleMobileDevice, IPodService, ipoint, iTunesHelper, itype, and Bonjour Service. Your mileage may vary, but give it a shot. Mike

iTunesHelper by itself can be a real resource hog... I no longer have any sync apps installed on my main PC since they all eat something even when not being used.
