"THANK YOU" everyone
The HJG B737-300/400/500 project is dedicated to the memory of HJG staff member John M.KEANE 1967 - 2012. RIP John .... "we will never forget you and all of your contributions to HJG".
1.01: "INTRODUCTION".
It is important to appreciate there is no such thing as a standard version among the B737-300/400/500 aircraft. These aircraft differ in size, engine thrust, and certified weights primarily. Most previously released simulations of these aircraft focus on just 1 specific aircraft configuration only. The B737-300/400/500 flight line offered by HJG represents each of the major production and conversion configurations which apply to these aircraft.
PLEASE NOTE: The HJG B737-300/400/500 aircraft base packs are "FS2004" native but are FSX portable.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: The B737-300/400/500 panel hosted by HJG is the property of Targan UNUTMAZ. HJG "DOES NOT" proclaim ownership or rights in regard to this panel or any of its associated components. All rights are reserved by the respective original authors. This panel is "FS2004" compatible only .... it "IS NOT" FSX portable.
PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONALLY: All installation procedures drafted within these notes are "FS2004" specific.

PLEASE NOTE: These are high quality sound packs produced by Benoit PLAMONDON.
Each of these these sound packs is based on what can be heard from a pilots/flight deck (not the PAX cabin) perspective.
The "proportion" of engine noise .... subject to environmental masking .... as represented within each of these "aircraft type specific sound packs differs (intentionally) in accordance with the fuselage length of the aircraft and in the interest of providing "the most authentic" audio experience..
Each of the FSX specific sound packs exploit the superior audio engine capacity of this FS version
Separate "FS2004" and "FSX" specific sound packs are provided .... "DO NOT" install the FS2004 sound pack into FSX .... "DO NOT install the FSX sound pack files into FS2004.
Failure to follow this instruction "WILL" result in a less than satisfactory audio experience.
1.08: "HJG B737-300/400/500 SMOKE & AIRCRAFT LIGHTING EFFECTS REPRESENTATION".
This B737-300/400/500 project is composed of the following aircraft texture night lighting effects ....
PLEASE NOTE: Engine smoke effects are not provided for any of these B737-300/400/500 simulations .... they are not necessary. The CFM-56 turbofan engines on all B737-300/400/500 are "virtually" smokeless.

PLEASE NOTE: All HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 textures are compatible with "FS2004" and "FSX" .... provided they are used on these newer version models only.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: Some "non-HJG supplied textures" for the original CANTU produced B737-300/400/500 models may work on these "new HJG supplied models", but, minor display issues might also be apparent..
1.10: "HJG B737-300/400/500 GENERAL INSTALLATION".
Installation of these B737-300/400/500 simulations is a very easy step-by-step process but "MUST" be completed strictly in accordance with the recommended installation procedures which accompany each of their associated files .... "DO NOT" circumvent the recommended installation procedures or difficulties may/will result.
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THE FOLLOWING AIRCRAFT BASE PACK, PANEL, AND SOUND PACK ASSIGNMENTS BE STUDIED .... AND UNDERSTOOD .... "PRIOR TO" INSTALLING ANY OF THESE FILES. DOING THIS WILL AVOID MISUNDERSTANDINGS/PROBLEMS AND WILL BE PROMOTING OF GREATER ENJOYMENT USING THIS SIMULATION.
1.11: "HJG B737-300/400/500 AIRCRAFT BASE PACK INSTALLATION".
The HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 aircraft base packs must be installed inside the FS2004 "AIRCRAFT" folder.
Each aircraft base pack file is composed of the following essential elements ....
- "MODEL" (folder .... containing 3D model file).
- "PANEL" (folder .... containing a PANEL.CFG file aliased to the default MSFS B737-400 panel)
- "SOUND" (folder .... containing a SOUND.CFG file aliased to the default MSFS B737-400 soundpack)
- "AIRCRAFT.CFG" (file)
- "AIR.FILE" (file)
All B737-300/400/500 aircraft base packs are available from separate "B737-300, B737-400", and "B737-500" sections located on the HJG downloads page.
1.12: "HJG B737-300/400/500 PANEL INSTALLATION".
The HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 panel file is named as follows ....
panel.b737-345_v1.0
This Panel folder should be installed inside the FS2004 "FSFSCONV" folder.
PLEASE NOTE: The FSFSCONV folder is located inside the FS2004 "AIRCRAFT" folder. This recommended installation procedure has been a standard HJG practice over many years past and results in more sensible (we believe) panel/aircraft base pack aliasing.
Open the PANEL.CFG file inside Panel folder which accompanies each HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 aircraft base pack .... by default its data will read precisely as follows
[fltsim]
alias=B737_400\panel
Edit the ALIAS= data line (only) of this PANEL.CFG folder to read precisely as follows ....
alias=fsfsconv\panel.b737-345_v1.0
.... then "save" this edit so the completed PANEL.CFG data then reads precisely as follows ....
[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\panel.b737-345_v1.0
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended the above panel ALIAS= data (for each individual aircraft version) be "copied & pasted" directly to the default PANEL.CFG file contained within the default Panel folder in order to avoid potential for typographical errors that will result in this panel not displaying with these simulations.
All panel gauge components (30X individual gauges files) for the HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 panel are contained within the "PANEL GAUGES" container which accompanies the panel download. Each of these files and sub folders must be installed inside the Flight Simulator 9 "GAUGES" folder.
All panel sound components (27X WAV samples) for the HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 panel are contained within the "PANEL SOUNDS" container which accompanies the panel download. Each of these files must be installed inside the Flight Simulator 9 "SOUND" folder .... not the Sound folder inside the HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 aircraft base pack/s
Failure to perform either of the above steps correctly "WILL" result in this B737-300/400/500 panel either not displaying, displaying with missing instruments/gauges, or otherwise not working properly.

These sound packs are each compiled in accordance with aircraft base pack supplied FDE parameters.
These sound packs are intended to replace the default Sound folders (aliased to the MSFS B737-400 sounds) supplied within each B737-300/400/500 aircraft base pack file.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: These sound packs can be used with non-HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 simulations, but, may not work as intended .... "unless HJG compiled FDE (both the CFG and AIR.FILE data) is also used". HJG compiled FDE (CFG files principally) might require additional editing in order be rendered fully compatible with non-HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 simulations. HJG does not provide assistance in regard to the reconfiguration of its files for use with other simulations.
The B737-300/400/500 sound packs are available from the "BOEING SOUNDS" section of the HJG downloads page .... see "B737" section.

"NO BROW" models automatically feature their correct FLSTIM.XX MODEL= assignments by default and do not need further ediing
1.16: "HJG B737-300/400/500 AIRCRAFT IDENTIFICATION - MSFS AIRCRAFT SELECTION MENU"
The following information is "purely optional" on the part of the end user.
All HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 aircraft subjects will/should, by default, appear within the MSFS Aircraft Selection Menu in accordance with the following
designations ....
- Boeing
B737-300
- Boeing
B737-300QC
- Boeing
B737-300SF
- Boeing
B737-300WL
- Boeing
B737-300WLSF
- Boeing
B737-400
- Boeing
B737-400 COMBI
- Boeing
B737-400QC
- Boeing
B737-400SF
- Boeing
B737-500
- Boeing
B737-500WL
The above designations governs how these B737-300/400/500 simulations are presented within the MSFS Aircraft selection Menu.
The UI MANUFACTURER data line (which for these aircraft subjects should always read "BOEING") .... then the UI TYPE data line (which for these aircraft subjects should always read either "B737" .... followed by the specific aircraft type name suffix) .... should each appear as compiled above.
Should the UI MANUFACTURER and/or UI TYPE data compiled within the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data accompanying any HJG supplied B737-300/400/500 texture "not" conform to the above protocols then this data should be edited in accordance with the above recommendations .... and these edits "SAVED".
1.17: "KNOWN ISSUES".
The following "VERY MINOR" issues are known to exist with the HJG hosted B737-300/400/500 simulation ....
- Using the HJG hosted B737-300/400/500 panel .... engaging the AP FD tab "on the ground" (only) also causes the AP WL tab to auto-engage also.
SOLUTION: Simply disengage the WL tab whilst on the ground.
- The altitude alert tone within HJG hosted B737-300/400/500 panel will "stutter/repat" when auto-activated in accordance with any pre-selected target altitude but only when a low ROC/ROD is maintained.
SOLUTION: N/A .... as this panel is "not" our own we're unable to modify it in any way.
- "In FSX" .... the FD windows on each B737-300/400/500 model may appear dark/lack transparency .... this "is not" an issue in FS9 though as is evidenced per the following forum posting ....
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/9834/737-300-windshield?page=1&scrollTo=68562
SOLUTION: N/A .... as these are "not" our own models we can't provide an FSX fix for this particular issue.
PLEASE NOTE .... the end user "IS NOT" in any way inconvenienced/disadvantaged by this "VERY MINOR" issue and which "DOES NOT" detract from the quality or enjoyment of any of these simulations.
"PLEASE" .... do not contact us in regard to the above-mentioned issue. HJG is well aware of this minor issue but are unable to rectify it.
1.18: A FEW FINAL WORDS.
Each file contained within these simulations has been individually checked and extensively tested for functionality prior to uploading.
Each file was noted to perform "FINE" .... or it simply would not be uploaded here.
Despite our endeavours to try and provide the best possible classic/historic jetliner "FREEWARE" for FS, it is not inconceivable that some oversights might have occurred, or, that difficulties might be encountered by some .... perhaps due to the extensive variability among PC systems of today rather than end user faults. HJG will try to assist troubleshooting any reported issues that do arise, but, "kindly understand" what occurs on one particular PC system "may not be universally experienced". All issues/queries concerning these B737-300/400/500 simulations should be addressed on the "BOEING SUPPORT" page of the HJG forum.

- B737-500 CFM-56-3B4 turbofan sound pack (version FSX)

This B737-300/400/500 project is composed of textures representing the liveries of real world airlines/operators from around the world ....
[fltsim]
alias=B737_400\panel
Edit the ALIAS= data line (only) of this PANEL.CFG folder to read precisely as follows ....
alias=fsfsconv\panel.b737-345_v1.0
.... then "save" this edit so the completed PANEL.CFG data then reads precisely as follows ....
[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\panel.b737-345_v1.0
Failure to perform either of the above steps correctly "WILL" result in this B737-300/400/500 panel either not displaying, displaying with missing instruments/gauges, or otherwise not working properly.

designations ....
- Boeing
B737-300
- Boeing
B737-300QC
- Boeing
B737-300SF
- Boeing
B737-300WL
- Boeing
B737-300WLSF
- Boeing
B737-400
- Boeing
B737-400 COMBI
- Boeing
B737-400QC
- Boeing
B737-400SF
- Boeing
