Hello!
Here is a new flightreport leading me from Milano over very scenic Alps to Vienna International Airport. On the day of the flight Europe faces a very cold weather up to minus 25 Degrees. For this flight I have decided to take again the Caravelle 6R with the colors of Austrian Airlines. Have fun and enjoy.
Regards Michael

...well done Michael! It is quite rare to see a simulated Caravelle flight. I have always found the Caravelle rather complex with many secondary panels. What about?

Not complex .... If one's disinclined to want to do the procedural stuff which forms the cold'n'dark scenario .... THEN .... all one needs do is engage the "easy start/ready to go"/auto configuration scenario as the simulation is selected and loaded into FS .... and which auto-activates "all systems" with the exception of lighting, anti-ice, and pressurization .... OR ALTERNATIVELY .... start with the cold'n'dark scenario then open the "FAIL" sub panel/page option and activate auto-engine start and auto-electrical configurations etc .... THEN .... hit the "VALIDATE" tab .... and the entire panel will be auto-configured for departure .... save for the lighting and both anti-ice and pressurization systems (this last item in particular is essential and must be set manually). Like anything/everything else it's just a matter of learning where everything's placed on each panel and turning it all "ON" The only thing that may trap some is different panels feature different instrument standards and layouts .... but .... that's how Benoit GAURANT has designed these fine panels and precisely how they should be too .... because that's how the CARAVELLE "is/was" in accordance with differing airline/customer specifications, so, lets' be grateful for his skills and meticulousness there. Once learned and remembered (through repetitive action/s .... and it really is all quite straight forward) these panels/simulations are not only "a breeze", but , are also a pure delight to fly .... aided by the beautiful fluidity of their flight/handling promoted by each of the CARAVELLE FDE's. Hey Mike .... watch the rotation angle Upon rotating for T/O I really thought you were going to wipe you bum/tail on that runway .... for a moment Mark C AKL/NZ

Thank you all for your comments. Yes the panel looks very complecated at the beginning, but to practice inflight I used the Instant Panel Settings, Mark discribed above. So it is very easy to learn and walk trouhg all subpanels and find out what is for what. Also it is recommendable to read the manuels provided. For me the AP System and the handling of the Mercure is more challenging. I also like the frame rate friendly look and the FDE is very good. Completed with the sounds sets and the smoke system it is a pleasure to fly this classic aircraft.
The near tailstrike maybe results of a wrong trim setting before take off . I know to take of on a very flat angle and then put the stick back for a better climbe rate. On this flight I also was close below the max TOW.
Have a nice day all Regards Michael
