Flickr has been bought by SmugMug (A relatively unknown Paysite), which vows to "revitalize" the photo service. I know a fellow user here who also uses Flickr, darrenvox , who has liked and shared more than one of my photos. It is being said that Flickr will no longer exist after May 25, 2018, and accounts will be transferred to "SmugMug". However, other reports are saying that: "SmugMug, an independent, family-run company, will maintain Flickr as a standalone community of amateur and professional photographers and (give the long neglected service the focus and resources it deserves)". SmugMug is a website that charges $5.99 a month to use their service. I've been on Flickr since 2007, and I've NEVER heard of this website until TODAY!!!!. I will have to see where this goes from here. Honestly, I feel like this is a "Bait and Switch" ploy, which most acquisitions like these almost always turn out to be. Thank you for your attention.

I have used SmugMug a bunch in the past. Not so much the past 5 years, but I used it for an Art Gallery that I use to belong to. They were always very good, and we even had a web site there. I think SmugMug has been around for loner then Flickr, just never got the name out there.

On closer inspection of the TOS, it seems as if they will keep Flickr separate, but own the site. I STILL don't trust em, as they could STILL pull a Bait N' Switch.
