Hi!
Are the AI DC-8 jets FSX native models? I would like to use the DC-8-72 and DC-8-62 in P3D v4 but there is no such indications.
Thank you for any help, suggestions, recommendations are welcome!

"So far as I´m aware" they are.
There´s no reason why they shouldn´t be (to my knowledge) since they are derivatives of our UI DC-8 models and textures which "ARE" all FSX portable.
I´ve even heard of some people using our UI DC-8 models as AI subjects .... in the past too.
I refer you to the following videos (although used to promote our 2016 released new soundpacks for our UI DC-8´s) .... simply because each were made "in FSX" and "do" also each demonstrate varying degrees of HJG AI in their backgrounds ....
DC-8 "GENERAL"
P&W JT3-C6 for the DC-8-11´s and -12´s .... external views
P&W JT4A fo the DC-8-30´s .... external views
RR CONWAY 509 for the DC-8-40-s .... external views
P&W JT3D-3B for the DC-8-50´s and Super 61´s .... external views
PLEASE NOTE: The AIR NZ DC-8-52 etxture feature within the above video is our old/though still currently downloadable but "soon to be replaced" with far more authentic version textures.
P&W JT3D-7 for the DC-8 Super 63´s and DC-8-62H´s .... external views
CFM-56-22 fgor the DC-8-71´s, -72´s, and -73´s .... external views

Well, looks like they aren't fully FSX native though. They should be usable in P3D v4 but as I zoom in or out, it dissapears out of view. The landing gears are completly absent too. Looks like FS2004 models converted for use with FSX but not native FSX models using the FSX SDK.

As I mentioned ....
Some people have, and are, using our "UI models for AI traffic in FSX" .... and with which no such issues exist .... as is evdenced within the FSX recorded video links.
"NOTHING" we offer is FSX native though .... with the exception of the "FSX specific version of the MERCURE 100".

Not FSX native = Not P3D v4 compatible. Thanks for the answers up until now though. Been trying to get things to work for the past...2 hours...

The lack of FSX native models is unfortunate though. I loved using HJG jets in FSX/FS2004. Would have loved them in P3D.

Can´t oblige in regard to P3D .... I´m sorry FS2004 (primarily) and FSx are our platforms. I´m not FSX (so can´t provide too much assistance with that particular platform), but, a couple of our guys "ARE". I´m sure they´ll be pleased to try´n assist (when available) .... and if they can .... BUT .... need to know "precisely what you´re doing, how you´re going about doing it, and with precisely what you´re trying to install too. FSX installation procedure are "partiularly sensitive" (as I´m sure you´re are, but, "if performed correctly" .... then none of what we offer that is FSX portable can´t not work. Mark C BOG/CO

Hey there, as Mark was saying the ai models are FSX portable from FS9 so P3dv4 is no good. Animations are different on some aircraft in P3dv4 so the aircraft mdl files have to be rebuilt using the the design kits for P3d. Flaps can also be an issue. P3dv4 is a great platform, I have it myself along with x-plane 11, but it seems that the freeware community that brought as so many fabulous things in FS9 and to some extent, FSX has now become the payware community.
Cheer,
Nathan

Are you saying that lots of the developers who made freeware for FS9 and/or FSX did make the transition to Prepar3d but are now charging for their work? If so can you name some examples? Thanks, George

George, I in no way mean to upset you or anyone else with what I posted and if I have I do apologise, especially to amazing developers like yourself. My comparison was meant to be that developers like FSUIPC, Active Camera, Voz even Ai Aardvark (which are used by Flight1 ultimate traffic live), Navigraph and the original engine behind flightsim commander. Also freeware programs like FS recorder which doesn’t work in FSX-SE forcing the purchase of something similar. I can understand how by going commercial, the huge amounts of work that are put into many, many addons have been able to be developed way beyond what would have been possible had they remained freeware, for example FSUIPC and the outstanding ORBX addons. The thing is, when I look at x-plane 11, I see so, so many free addons that are often beyond the quality of what is available in P3dv4 and the freeware community is far more active than their payware community that often relies on pluggins created by freeware. I have purchased scenery for FSX and P3dv4 that has been left miles behind by the X-plane 11 freeware. Again, my intention is not to say that there isn’t amazing quality freeware out there, but when comparing P3dv4 to x-plane 11, the emphasis is more on quality payware for P3d and payware quality freeware for x-plane.
George, Benoit, Tony, Mark and everyone else that have given up so much of their valuable time, I am forever in awe and in debt to you. To me, you still hold a candle bright for the spirit that got this hobby to where it is today and because of developers like you, still make it viable.
Cheers,
Nathan

No apology necessary Nathan .... you´ve done nothing wrong .... and nor has anyone else either I think George´s probably interested in trying to analyse the state of quality FS freeware variety, production, and availability now verus what it used to be up to several years ago .... and also versus the same in regard to opposing payware production too and in relation what extent some originally freeware developers (if any) might have already defected to payware production by now.
