Good Morning, Happy New Year,
I've been using the HJG 727-200 with panel for some time. Last night I installed the 727-100QC and the "b727-100_late_jt8d-9_v2" panel. Though I can see the instrument panel and cockpit views, all gauges are blank (black). Apparently I've made some fundamental error in setting things up, but I have gone over it again and am not finding the problem. I did not reinstall the core files and gauges because that was already done for the 727-200 panel and they have been working. Can you please help with with what to look for?
Thanks, Kurt

If you already have the B727-200 panel intalled .... and the current B727 panel gauges/cotre files installed also .... and if these are all working properly too .... then there's no reason to install the gauges/core files again as you say.
"At a guess" .... I'd say your recent B727-100 JT8D-9 panel file may have been corrupted during the downloading process or is otherwise incomplete .... maybe missing its own PANEL.CFG file due to the possibility of such corruption since this can happen .... and appears to have actually happened in a couple of other cases recently.
I'll have a look at the file (just to be sure) and report later on .... since I'm tied up with real world business over the next several days.
One thing you could do though is .... delete the B727-100 panel file you currently have installed and then download, and reinstallll, the very same file once again.
Again .... you shouldn't need to install the B727 panel gauges/core files again thpugh .... unless you've previously removed these.

Good Afternoon,
Thank you for checking into this -- I completely understand about real world life. I downloaded and reinstalled just the panel (not the core gauges since they work) and have the same result. And I checked and am able to open and read the PANEL.CONFIG file within the new panel download.
Thank you, Best regards, Kurt

Every time I've had blank gauges it's been the core files. Try redownloading the core files and reinstall. As Mark said, you shouldn't have to do this, but your gauge files may have become corrupted. It happens with hard drives. Just this past year my fsconv folder just disappeared from my drive after an FS session. Fortunately I had a backup on an external drive.

Fortunately I'm home today but can't guarantee being so during the following days. I've just downloaded, and installed, the B727-100 JT8D-9 Panel .... for the benefit of this check. The Panel file should contain a total of 14X individual elements .... among which include 2X PANEL.CFG files .... one for FS2004 (the default activation) and the other for FSX use. The FSX PANEL.CFG file needs to be activated .... if FSX is being used. The supporting B727 Panels Gauges/Core Files V2.2 (required for all B727 panels) contain separate panel Gauges and Sound folders. TheGauges folder contains 2 files .... both of which must be installed inside the "GAUGES" folder of FS. The Sound folder contains 89 files .... all of which must be installed inside the "SOUND" folder of FS (that's the Sound folder within the FS folder directory and not the Sound folder inside your aircraft base pack). At the very least you need to check that what's communicated above is consistent with what you've downloaded and installed .... and that you've installed it all precisely as recommended above also. As can be seen per the image below .... the panel displays fine and without any issues whatsoever .... gauges or otherwise .... These panels have not been edited since October 2015 .... and their supporting Panel Gauges/Core Files have not been edited since March 2016 .... there's simply been no need to do so. If your confident your Panel file data is consistent with what I've mentioned above .... and if you've tried redownloading and replacing it .... as I earlier suggested .... THEN (and as Mike suggests) .... you might need to do the same also (redownload and replace/reinstall) in regard to the supporting Panel Gauges/Core Files. Save for the possibility of a corrupted downloads (this can happen for any number of reasons) .... there are no known issues with any of our B727 panels or their supporting Gauges/Core Files components. Provided everything's been installed correctly .... there's no reason why you should be experiencing any problem/s at all .... and more-so considering, you say, your B727-200 panel installation is fine. The following 2 images were made "just for convenience (other/future purposes) only" and have absolutely no bearing on the above reported issue, but, the same B727-100 D9 panel was used during these takes also .... The fact the B727-100 subject featured within these images is not a -100C/F/QC/IGW is completely irrelevant to the reported issue Mark C BOG/COL

Good Evening,
Reloading the core gauges and files took care of the problem -- Now the 727-200 and 727-100 both work. (Not sure why the difference, but the key thing is both types work now.)
Thank you very much! (You sure do have good graphics on your machine!) Best regards, Kurt

I'd say a "corrupted download" might account for your particular experience. As I've stated a couple of times above .... this can happen .... and we're aware of at least 3 instances of this having occurred recently. As the panel gauges among these B727 panels (and indeed among most of our aircraft type panels) are all "engine type specific calibrations" (aided by some of George's "very clever" FDE manipulation/s too).... no 2 B727 panels (or those for any of our aircraft) are absolutely identical/use the very same gauges for this reason. This's also the reason why it's essential to pair our B727 aircraft base pack/engine type files with our correct corresponding B727 panel/engine type files .... as referenced within our following linked forum based/online B727 manual .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7819/b727-panels-installation-handling-notesFailure to do this will ensure mismatches .... of the type resulting in performance related issues. In the event of a corrupted file .... whilst one panel version may reveal no issues at all, another panel version might, by virtue of the fact different gauges versions are assigned to it (from the gauges/core files component), reveal a problem .... as appears to have been the case in your particular case. It makes tracking down the problem more fun, I guess... But anyway, thank both of you for working with me on this. I've already made a good flight with the airplane. The various aircraft I've downloaded from here work very well.
Have a great evening, Kurt
