Since there was a little B707 related activity on the forum earlier this week .... I thought I'd seize the opportunity to communicate the following reminders concerning these simulations as follows ....
1. Our B707-120(BF), -320F, -320B ADV(SCD), -320C, and B720B(F) models each feature animated port side forward fuselage main deck cargo doors. Theses animation work on the basis of the FS2004 CONCORDE visor commands ....
B707-320C CONVERTIBLE
B707-320C PURE FREIGHTER/CONVERSION
PLEASE NOTE: The EXTEND CONCORDE VISOR FULLY and RETRACT CONCORDE VISOR FULLY keyboard commands but be manually assigned within FS OPTIONS/CONTROLS/ASSIGNMENTS. Once "correctly assigned" .... keyboard commands SHIFT+F7 open the cargo door .... and .... keyboard commands SHIFT+F6 close the cargo door .... both as illustrated above.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: Although the HJG supplied B707/720/C-135 simulations are all FSX portable these cargo door animation "cannnot" work in this FS version .... due to the CONCORDE visor being controlled by a different combination of keyboard commands in FSX. It is not possible to assign alternative keyboard command for these cargo doors to function in FSX.
2. We offer a manual for our B707/720 simulations. This is compiled by George CARTY .... and is (recommended) located at the top of the "BOEING PANELS" downloads page .... within the "B707/720 PANELS section of this page.
In addition to this we also offer a B707 FUEL MANAGEMENT TURORIAL too. This is compiled by Harerton DORADO .... and is also (recommended) located at the top of the "BOEING PANELS" downloads page .... within the "B707/720 PANELS section of this page.
An additional basic manual (service notes really) is also available on our forum as follows :-
B707 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/1567/b707-panels-installation-handling-notes
PLEASE NOTE: Whilst this is not a fully fledged manual as per the forum based online manuals for most of our other simulations .... these B707/720 service notes "DO" contain a lot of valuable information. It is recommended that one should familiarize oneself with these service notes also and in addition to the above-mentioned manual and tutorial.
3. It is "ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL" to pair each B707/720/C-135 simulations with the correct Panel, Aircraft Base Pack, and Sound Pack combinations. Failure to do this correctly will result in performance related issues. The following service notes advise in regard to precisely which Panels, Aircraft Base Packs, and Sound Packs should be used with each of these B707/720/C-135 simulations ....
B707/720 PANEL/AIRCRAFT BASE PACK ASSIGNMENTS

C-135 PANEL/AIRCRAFT BASE PACK ASSIGNMENTS

B707/720 SOUND PACK/AIRCRAFT BASE PACK ASSIGNEMENTS

C-135 SOUND PACK/AIRCRAT BASE PACK ASSIGNMENTS
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/1562/hjg-c135-sound-which-plane
Again .... use the correct/recommended Panels, Aircraft Base Packs, and Sound Packs with each simultion.
4. The following information clearly describes all of the differences between each B707/720 3D model ....
B707/720 3D MODEL DESCRIPTIONS
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/1565/hjg-b707-720-models-different
PLEASE NOTE: The above service notes "do not" include description in regard to our C-135 simulations.
5. Comment has been made here .... and elsewhere too .... in the past and in regard to the shape of some features among these B707/720/C-135 3D models. The current HJG website front page image (featuring an AA -320B ADV) is unedited and indicates a pretty good 3D model profile .... for FS. The basic airframe features of this model are duplicated throughout our B707/720/C-135 3D model inventory .... BUT .... people must bear in mind (if they're to any extent unaware) that whatever screen resolution one opts to apply within both WINDOWS and in FS (and which can vary markedly among both monitors and in accordance with personal preferences) will ultimately dictate the extent of any distortion/s that may, at the end of the day, be evident to the eye among these or "any other" 3D models. One needs to experiment with screen resolution sizes in order to find the subtle balance between what looks nice and right .... and again .... this applies to any 3D model in FS be these HJG supplied or other productions.
