Looks like a fantastic collection of Airline Memorabilia. I'm sure it brings you much pleasure to be looking at it. Herman Well it is somewhat inspirational for all my repaints And Mark, I'd love to see how your models turn out! or do you just collect the kits and never build them? I know someone who does that for car models. I used to be into kits but I find paint and decals just so... finicky and I can't realistically justify getting an airbrush setup... Now it's 1:400s and maybe now that I have somewhere to display them 1:200 diecasts... when/if i have the funds... I had a heart attack looking for some Eastern 1/400s! I got some bids in on EBay but Eastern, TWA, Pan Am, Caribair, BOAC... even classic red stripe Air Canada seem to be too expensive for now Oh well Quebecair, Inter-Canadian and Calm Air coming soon

I'l try'n organize something over the next few days (see how we go for time) .... between property inspections here and prior to the bidding war we're currently engineering Airbrushes (good ones I mean) don't come cheap .... but .... nor do decent plastic kits now either. Given the cost of decent airbrushes .... and that of the kits as well .... it's better to "spend the money" to get something decent in order to be able to make a decent job of them Plastic modelling (apart from my civil aviation photography .... and depleting the local fish population too) is something I enjoy "FAR MORE" than FS 1/400 is getting a wee bit small for my own personal liking .... but sometimes, and given the limitations of what is actually available, beggars can't be choosers. Still .... anything die cast/metal is "BLOODY MENRTALLY PRICED" .... and more-so too if it's 1/200 or 1/144 scale and representative of any of the early and now no longer existent classic operators .... or if it's subject to commissions/licencing payable to BOEING and which hasn't made things particularly cost effective since the 90's either. But I just found a couple on Ebay cheap...ish...kinda(just don't tell the wife)? Even classic snap togethers seem to be expensive now... I remember buying 2 1/250 747s for $20USD, now one is over $60... sigh...

This is pretty well all I can accommadate in our spare den. Two large framed prints that are actually screen shots of the HJG CPA DC-8-43 and a non HJG screen shot of the TCA Vickers Vanguard. The model (1\100 scale) of the CPA DC-8 (plastic) I did myself, but I had a lot of problems with the decals due to inexperience. The AAL Boeing 707 and BOAC VC-10 (1\100 scale) were purchased. Herman

Those are nice Herman... Ironically I just put in a bid on a vc10 diecast... Not BOAC though, Ghana airways, I've always loved the vc10.
And you did better on those decals then I usually do! Even with Microset and microsol I have trouble especially with stripes and I get so frustrated i usually make it worse ☹️

Thank you Peter. Just a little story behind the CPA DC-8.
I purchased the Model from a dealer in the US a few years ago. It originally had decals for a Pan American DC-8. When I tried to apply those decals they all broke apart because of age. The only other decals that were available from the same dealer were for a CPA DC-8-63 (1\200 scale I think it was) which I applied to the model, however, they were just slightly smaller.
Peter, do you know when the Aviation Show is in Toronto.( WE recently, after 10 years in Victoria,BC. moved back to TO to be closer to family).
I have quite a bit of airline memorabilia ( mainly Airliner prints ) that I would like to get rid of.

Thank you Peter for that information. Looking forward to attending, however, it is somewhat disappointing with the short time frame. A real blow to the aviation enthusiast community.
