From time to time I like to paint the occasional non-HJG subject just to keep things interesting, plus with being home for a few days, I got a chance to test it out for real! For the Dreamwings ERJ-170, I've done one up for an airline that's very near and dear to me, this one being Republic Airways' new house livery that was unveiled this past April. I decided to take it on a spin from Indianapolis to Washington DC on a flight representative of the ones it does for the three US majors. Currently there are three of them floating around, all having returned from their leases with Aeromexico Connect earlier this year. Blasting off of IND's 23R past the main maintenance facility. Probably a few unhappy campers onboard as this one currently doesn't have any first class seats (though I expect that will change after the summer). Missing out on some great views of farm fields with the dense clouds. Somewhere over Ohio. The winds in DC were favoring runway 19, which meant getting to the always-fun visual approach over the Potomac River. Just missed out on getting the Washington Monument in the frame! Capitol dome in the distance. Gravelly Point park (just a few hundred yards north of the end of 19) is always an essential stop whenever I'm in Washington! Brickyard 4538 tucked in at the gate before heading off to Charleston, SC. Enjoy!
