"IF" .... you've successfully installed other files (and by that I presume you're referring to our other B727-200's) then the "installation procedure", for FSX, is precisely the same for the subject you're trying to install .... as it is for any of our other FS2004 files that are FSX portable.
I'll have a look at the texture file we hold and check if there's any inconsistencies or omissions associated with it or its supporting FLTSIM.XX/CFG data .... and report back later .... later possibly meaning within the next couple of days due to my personal and R/W schedule.
Until I can get back to you some quick check you need to perform are as follows ....
1. Check that you're using the AMERIJET 2013 texture with the following B727 aircraft base pack ....
B727-200F ADV WL NTL/VHF JT8D-172. Check that the MODEL= line within the FLTSIM.XX/CFG data supporting this texture reads precisely as follows ....
model=HK4_NTL_WL3. Check that the SIM= line within the FLTSIM.XX/CFG data supporting this texture reads precisely as follows ....
B727200FADVC_VLor ....
B727200FADVC_VL.air.... depending on the required file name protocols for your OS.
4. Check that you've activated the "FSX" specific AIRCRAFT.CFG file within the recommended aircraft base pack .... and have renamed it as follows ....
AIRCRAFT or ....
AIRCRAFT.CFG .... again depending on the required file name protocols for your OS.
4. If you're not using the Panel and Sound options we offer/recommend (our B727 panels "ARE" FS2004 portable and we "DO" offer FSX customized versions of each of our B727 sound packs) then check that the alias's for the default PANEL.CFG and SOUND.CFG read precisely as follows for FSX use ....
[fltsim]
alias=B737_800\panel
[fltsim]
alias=B737_800\sound.... by default both of these files feature "FS2004" specific alias's which need to be edited as directed above.
The above items 1-4 are "the most common" errors people make .... short of making other more fundamental errors in regard to their FSX installation protocols .... either of which will ensure these files won't be recognized or displayed by FSX.
No problem Bill, but, as is constantly repeated on this forum (simply for the benefit of everyone's fair understanding .... although I accept you may have missed this information as anyone can do
) there "is" a non-standard and minor imposition associated with the installation of our B727-200's (only) and which is also clearly explained within the following linked statement ....
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8349/b727-simulation-display-read.... in particular Scroll down to the "WHY HAS THIS IMPOSITION OCCURRED ?" section of this above linked notice and review our commentary.
It's also recommended that people should familiarize themselves with our following linked forum based B727 manual and within which most of the above information is repeated or otherwise linked to also ....
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7819/b727-panels-installation-handling-notes.
In the meantime and FYI .... our entire B727 project "IS" FSX portable despite its FS2004 nativity.
Again I'll review the AMERIJET texture file to check for any errors or inconsistencies ASAP .... but .... may not be able to respond for a couple of days .... sooner if my personal circumstances permit
