I have a problem with the HJG B737-500 model in FSX.
I downloaded normally the base model for the 737-500 and some textures to go with it. I read carefully the README file and followed the instructions, deleting the FS2004 files and renaming the FSX files to "normal", but said:
- "Delete the file "aircraft.cfg" and rename the file "aircraft_fsx.cfg" to "aircraft.cfg". This must be done before any textures are installed."
I went to the HJG B735 folder and only saw one aircraft.cfg, which was already named "normal". Meaning that this is the aircarft.cfg file for the FS2004. Anyway I used that file and placed the flightsim text for the textures but at the time of opening the simulator, I can't find any of the aircraft. Is there any solution? Have this happened to anyone before?
Can someone help me please, thank you.

Just quickly, did you also change the panel.cfg in the panel folder?

For the B737-300, -400, and -500 there is only 1 AIRCRAFT.CFG file.
This file is dual FS2004 and FSX compatible.
An FSX specific AIRCRAFT.CFG file "IS NOT" necessary for any the HJG supplied B737 simulations since none require Smoke Effects.
There can be any number of reasons why files do not appear in FSX, but, the most common answer to this sort of issue is as follows ....
By default the PANEL.CFG and SOUND.CFG files inside each B737 Aircraft Base Pack PANEL and SOUND folder are aliased to their FS2004 Panel and Sound assignments.
Did you edit these PANEL.CFG and SOUND.CFG aliases to read in accordance with the default "FSX specific Panel and Sound assignments" ?
If you did not do this then FSX "WILL NOT" display the simulations you're trying to install.
All of the HJG supplied B737-300, -400, and -500 Aircraft Base Packs, Models, and FDE (both CFG and AIR data) "ARE" FSX portable.
For FSX use the PANEL.CFG and SOUND.CFG aliases inside each B737 Aircraft Base Pack PANEL and SOUND folder must be edited to read as follows ....
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\panel
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\sound
You need to ensure the above is done, so, try that first.
If this doesn't work (for you) then I want you to do each of the following ....
1. State precisely which B737-500 aircraft Base Pack you're installing.
2. State precisely which Textures you're trying to install.
3.Copy & Paste the FLTSIM.XX data entries for all B737-500 textures you've assigned to your B737-500 AIRCRAFT.CFG file. PLEASE NOTE: Copy & Paste just the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT Texture data only (as you have installed it) .... "NOT" the entire content of the AIRCRAFT.CFG file please.
