I have a laptop I use for general purposes, no FS at all. I use excel, Word, and browse with firefox. The usual daily computer tasks. MS has a push downloaded to move to Windows 11 at no cost. From past experience I'm always leery of making such a move mainly due to the fact that what MS considers "improvements" I often consider to be pains in the ass in terms of functionality. Anyone here using W11, and any issues in terms of functionality? Will I get pissed off I made the move? Mike

Walter merely touched on this subject .... "in regard to FS" .... and within his following linked posting .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10036/win-2004-fs9-first-experiences?page=1&scrollTo=70307.... BUT .... probably not within the context of which you're seeking advance clarification Mike. My usual preference/recommendation is "don't be first to upgrade" .... be it "FREE" or not .... unless one has trusted experience with whom to be able to liaise with .... if need be. Instead it often pays to sit back/wait and to assess reports .... and only consider upgrading later once inevitable issues are more widely appreciated and likely resolved .... albeit by then such upgrading may not be free. Hi friends: Regarding to the general impressions on changing to WIN 11: The process to install WIN 11 was very long and lasted some hours consuming a whole working day but it was automatic. My computer eligible for updating is an ACER Aspire 5 i7 1,8 GHZ, INTEL UHD Graphics 620 , 20 GB Memory, 16 GB Optane Memory 4 GB DDR 4 Memory and 1000 GB HDD My relation to PC is as consumer and this since many decades. SO overall: Everything which worked in WIN 10 works a little faster. For browsing I use Edge and Firefox without problems, for the daily works the free Open Office also trouble less. Norton Security Ultra and Norton antivirus watch for me. The lite changes in appearance are not a problem for me. The very old apps installed are still working LESS the PT Tu-154 M panel, but that did not work in WIN 10 neither. Up to now no new problem came up, even FS 9 no disc version works as before. The HDMI connection is now working without problems. Kind regards Walter
