For an "authentic" DAL L-1011 "of this livery era" it'd be a "TRISTAR 250" .... but ... .the choice is "yours" As it's a "FICTIONAL" livery though this subject could be used with any of our current TRISTAR base packs for which DAL textures are assigned. Whilst our L-1011 aircraft/base pack livery options are aircraft type specific (defined by certified weights and engine thrust applicable to each version) all of the TRISTAR textures we currently offer can actually be used with "any" base pack .as there's no difference whatsoever between any of the 3D models .... "AS YET" Mark C AKL/NZ That is actually quite interesting. I never knew that all of the HJG Tristar textures could be used interchangeably with any of the variants provided by HJG. Most likely should this repaint be released publicly, I will probably use it with the 250 as like the American Airlines Maddog what if texture, it can be at least somewhat in line with what reality would have given us had the Tristar remained in Delta’s fleet for a little while longer.

What I mentioned in regard to texture interchangeability is true among those for the TRISTAR's we offer .... only because "THE SAME" 3D model (for the time being) is used for all of the base packs we provide, but, this's "NOT" necessarily the case in regard the other 3D models, base packs, and their supporting textures offered by us since most of these are "aircraft type specific". TO PUT IT BASICALLY .... We promote/recommend or otherwise encourage "correct" aircraft base back/texture/panel/sound pairing for everything we offer .... not only in the interest/s of historic authenticity, but also, in order to guarantee the smooth running of everything as well as peoples enjoyment of it all too. Happy to answer further technical queries along these and other lines, but, feel free to post these on our aircraft type SUPPORT pages .... only so this/Erik's thread can then remain focused upon his texture previewing Mark C AKL/NZ

For what it's worth, N735D was actually just a basic L-1011-1, but seeing as it's fictional, I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from using it as a -250 either All three types (-1, -250, and -500) actually remained in service right up to the end in 2001. Back to the real world, here's McDonnell Douglas' MD-90 prototype N901DC as seen at the time of its first flight in February 1993. It was later adorned with the logos of several of its first few customers and various suppliers. Unlike some other MD and Boeing prototypes, it was not modified for delivery to anyone and was eventually broken up in 2006.

Here finally are a few more things I had languishing in various states of completion, with two 737s and an MD-90: JA391K of Hokkaido International/Air Do circa 2007: ZK-JTQ of Alliance Airlines circa 2012. In 2012-13, they leased a single ex-Qantas 737 from Jetconnect to help cover parts of their operation. Finally, OH-BLF of Blue1 circa 2009; this one wears the Star Alliance livery, of which Blue1 was an associate through its ownership by SAS. Like most other flyable MD-90s, this one made its way to Delta in 2011, becoming N933DN.

The rego of that one immediately got my attention. Not much gets past me/escapes my attention/knowledge in regard to civil aviation here (given updates, schedules, and other movements related and briefs I receive daily .... and of course "I do also haff vays ov making people talk" ), but, that's one I wasn't aware of I probably missed it due to one of my regular and extended excursions within Colombia during that period. Nice surprise Erik Mark C AKL/NZ

Originally I started this one just for my own amusement, then I saw that Alex requested it recently, and after some behind-the-scenes discussion, Mark and I have agreed to present it here with the understanding that certain liberties are being taken with the models we have available! This is N162W, a BAC 111-401AK operated by Northrop Grumman circa 2017; it was one of four used for various avionics testing, mostly for military applications. These were actually the last 111s to fly anywhere in the world, and were operated as "experimental" aircraft after the type certificate for it was withdrawn in 2010. This one and sister ship N164W were retired in 2019, with heavily-modified CRJ-700s taking their place in the test role.

My pleasure Here are a few I did a long time ago (not long after I started painting for HJG, I think!) that I felt were deserving of some significant improvements; here's the Condor DC-10 fleet revisited! D-ADPO, 1979 D-ADQO, 1987 D-ADSO, 1995 As a bonus, I also redid D-ADSO as it looked when leased by Lufthansa in 1988.
