With the prospect of more time appearing for me on the horizon, I have started to contemplate the possibility of properly getting into aircraft repainting as well as trying out my luck with sound editing for fs9. As I have access to both adobe Photoshop and Gimp, I wanted to ask if anyone has advice on where I should start with regards to aircraft repainting, (I.e. what aircraft stock or addon, pacing, file manipulation, dealing with non-layered repaint kits with only .BMP files, etc.). I did previously attempt to use the TDS 727-200/100 repaint kit as it came with layered psd files, though the lack of clear documentation and prior experience ended up pushing me away from it. Same thing occurred with the Vistaliners L1011 repaint kit, though the reason I gave up there was a mixture of lack of experience dealing with kits that lacked .psd files, and free time available.
With regard to sound editing, I have taken an interest in this as I have found myself being knocked out of the fs9 immersion by the annoying clicking or popping sounds, which I understand are caused by a rough ending as the .wav files loop. Thus, if anyone has advice or pointers on how to approach editing this in a sound editor such as Audition or Audacity, I am all ears so to speak.
Happy simming!

The late Garry Smith did a fantastic repainting tutorial, his site has gone but you may find it by searching around the internet. Its very good if somewhat old but it gets you started.
