"HJG 22ND ANNIVERSARY"
This's been unavoidably delayed for more than a month due to COVID imposed staff impositions, but, is as relevant now as ever before

16 years ago .... on April 6th 2006 .... the new/current HJG was established online .... although the original HJG was actually founded during 2000 and has run continuously since that time and which now see's this group having provided 22 years of service to the FS community.
What transpired to threaten the original HJG existence back in 2006 was a European business collapse and the consequential loss of a server .... resulting in HJG then seeking a new home, voluntary retirement of all but 3 of its original group members, and an entirely new development and administration team then tasking themselves with responsibility for the onward running of the group.
When the original HJG was rescued from the edge of the FS abyss back in early 2006 (it was about to disappear forever) the prime intention of its new administrators was simply to try'n ensure the groups extensive FS resource remained online/available for all whom wished to partake of it .... and for as long as possible .... and to also try'n improve what could be improved along the way too .... BUT LITTLE ELSE .... only what's happened since is something that was never actually contemplated.
Prior to 2006 HJG's virtual flight line was represented by only 6 basic aircraft types .... the B367-80, B707/720, C-135 SERIES, CV-880, CV-990, and DC-8 .... along with a few panels, sound packs, and effects files for each these simulations ....

.... BUT .... due to "purely unanticipated opportunities and other motivations" what's developed since 2006 is the now greatly expanded flight line which has since taken up residence at HJG .... in the form of BAC ONE-ELEVEN, BAe 146/ARJ, B717-200, B727, B737, CARAVELLE, CONCORDE, DC-9, DC-10, DH-106 COMET, HS-121 TRIDENT, L-1011, MD-80/-90, AMD MERCURE 100, and VC10/C1K simulations ....

.... not to mention the associated "considerable expansion and improvement" of its panel, sound, and effects resources for each of these simulations too .... BUT AGAIN .... this's all something the new HJG administrators neither anticipated nor originally set out to do.
It's not been easy (in fact it's had its moments) .... and in all honestly had it been suspected beforehand precisely what we might occasionally be confronted with (sometimes) then 2nd thoughts might likely have been entertained in regard to the sensibility of bothering to do so at all (running an FS group is occasionally neither easy nor fun), but then again, it's been as "INTERESTING" as it's also been "CHALLENGING" along the way .... and even "REWARDING" sometimes too

SO THEN .... and 22 years later .... HJG's still going strong .... trying to do the best it can "with the limited resources at its disposal" .... thanks to each of its team members (past and present) .... whilst also not forgetting our host Pete DALY/SIMVIATION.COM whom has kindly supported HJG throughout these past 16 years (since 2006 HJG's been a SIMVIATION subsidiary) .... along with significant, and much appreciated, community support and encouragement as well.
"A HAPPY ALBEIT BELATED 22ND BIRTHDAY HJG" .... and "THANKS" to everyone for their support over the years which has helped justify/make it all happen and to the extent it's enabled HJG to survive "THIS LONG" and for the "FREE" FS enjoyment of everyone whom continues to desire partaking of it
