My PC crashed 10 years ago, and I moved to a MacBook, so no FS for me! Other hobbies, priorities (kids), etc.
Well, I recently bought x-Plane for my Mac and realized I really miss flying the HJG fleet, especially my favorite...the DC-9. Other favs included the DC-8 and 727. Anyway, I'll be starting from scratch, but would like to get back to flying some of these classic airliners.
I'm planning on buying a new PC, but admit, my budget is pretty tight these days. Any suggestions on what I might want to run FS9 or FSX without issues, too much lag...minimum specs, etc?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Jon: Let's put it simple: Buying a new PC you will get WIN 11 and: FS9 presents above WIN 7 some inconveniences. So, it would be better shop for a used one WIN7 PC with a i7 core, 8 RAM plus and a good video card. Such a machine would also still have a CD slot, so your old FS9 FSX CDs can be used: hopefully you still have or find them! AND a used PC will fit better in your budget!!! On my i7 PC HJG with WIN11 airplanes in FS9 work fine BUT: E.g.: PT Tupolev Tu 154M does not work at all and other Russian simulations can create crash to desktop sometimes. AND use that PC only for flightsimming. Good luck Walter P.S.:one can see that: tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/10038/w11
