Tried changing the entries in the aircraft.cfg without success. I do have EditVoicePack installed but am unable to find a voice file for "Convair" or 880/990 et al.

Maybe you've applied a call sign the FS ATC or EDIT VOICE PACK doesn't recognize .... I'm only guessing Copy & Paste both the FLTSIM.XX and GENERAL data for each of the CV880 and CV990 model/textures subjects you have installed .... so we can see "precisely what you've got there". PLEASE NOTE: C&P "just the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT and GENERAL data only" and not the entire AIRCRAFT.CFG. The FLTSIM.XX based ATC call sign data we assign to what we offer is correct for each subject .... or it is "in regard to all textures that pass through me" at least (unless we can't locate the appropriate data and need to improvise) prior to being uploaded here and it works acceptably well with standard/basic FS ATC support. I don't have, or use, EDIT VOICE PACK though .... and technically speaking HJG doesn't support it because it's not one of our own offerings or recommendations, but, upon your possibly getting back to us with the requested data, then, maybe someone whom is familiar with it might be able to advise "in a community sense" Mark C AKL/NZ

Thank you its fixed now - just added the following to the [GENERAL] section of aircraft config and it works as it should.
atc_type=CONVAIR atc_model=CV990
:thumbs:
Edit: I should say that i am using Prepar3d v3.4 with the HJG Convair and BAC 1-11 - neither works in P3D v5.3, and I didnt want to go back to FSX/FSXSE. Everything seems to be in order so far, apart from some minor tweaks (as is always the case with PC flight simulation it seems!).

"GOOD-OH" Some important details to bear in mind in future though .... Always refer to the BAC ONE-ELEVEN's (and COMET's, TRIDENT's, and VC10's too) as "DMFS/DAVID MALTBY FLIGHTSIM" simulations and "NOT" HJG products. As also applies to the AMD MERCURE 100 (Mario NORIEGA's product) HJG only "host these simulations by consent", but, does not actually own them. A small but at the same time important detail "EVERYTHING" HJG offers is FS2004 native .... and works straight out of the box "in accordance with our recommendations". Most of what we offer is FSX portable too .... and without any issues. Nothing HJG offers is P3D V5 (or MSFS2020 for that matter) portable/compatible though. I've heard some of what we offer may be P3D V3 (and earlier) portable/compatible, but, say so "with reservation" .... simply because I've yet to see, and analyse, evidence of this myself given some peoples ideas of portability/compatibility is "vastly different from that of our own" Mark C AKL/NZ

Message received, re DMFS/AMD.
As for compatibility, I just used trial and error both with P3D v3 (the 3 jets I tested seem to work) and v5 - nothing works, but curiously the AMD MERCURE 100 does seem to work fine. it does need more testing, I cheated and flew with the RealityXP GTN750 and the flight went perfectly. Going to fly the same route gain a few times before adding it to my FS Captain fleet!

I think the fact the AMD MERCURE 100 is a "far more recent" production might possibly account for that (by comparison the foundations of everything else we offer is "far older"), but, nothing else we offer will work in P3D beyond V3 ....
