"FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP"/HJG COLLABORATION
PREFACE
Upon request made to it .... HJG has occasionally assisted the development of a number FS projects undertaken by different groups and individuals. We are however "very selective" in regard to whom, and what, projects we assist though. If projects, offers, and requests for assistance are ever declined by HJG then there's "a good reason" for that. It's not because this group is reluctant to want to assist or share. In fact it's usually because we either aren't comfortable with the nature of proposals submitted to us .... or .... we're in no position to authorize and assist edits involving FS files we don't own .... or .... what the group offers, and has been authorized to edit for its own use, is hosted "HERE" by "exclusive agreement" with original authors who's instructions may preclude sharing, and further development of, their data by other parties. Multitudes of factors can apply. A collaborative relationship which has continued to work well .... for both parties involved .... and hopefully for the FS community too .... is that which has been cultivated between HJG and Chesley HANN's "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP" .... and who's following projects are the subject of this particular "NEWS" related presentation.
ABOUT CHESLEY HANN's "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP"

This is a "private" FB group the proprietor of which is a retired aviation professional with a passion for creating quality freeware for the enjoyment of his FS community.
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for membership of this group one must first provide "a full personal profile" (that relates to one's own appreciation of or past/present involvement with aviation) upon registration and prior to being accepted and then authorized to access its projects. Incomplete or otherwise non-compliant applications will be "rejected".
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: All technical support for "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP" projects is provided on its FACE BOOK page .... HJG "cannot" provide technical support for these projects.
PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONALLY: Under no circumstances may any of HJG's or the "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP's" own components included within or used by these projects be edited or uploaded/distributed elsewhere without the prior written consent of either party. HJG thanks Chesley HANN for his kind co-operation with us
Installation of the following "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP" projects is very straight-forward in accordance with the instructions that accompanying each. These are nicely featured panels which are both enjoyable and very simple to use. All details associated with these projects function well. Minor performance variations are evident between the "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP" and HJG exclusive versions of these simulations, but, HJG's own handling recommendations/Basic Flying Guides remain applicable to each of these projects .... should one opt to implement them.
PROJECT # 1. B717-200 PANEL PROJECT
The B717-200 was conceived by McDONNELL-DOUGLAS as the MD-95. This aircraft was a shortened version of its MD-87 and became 2nd of the 3rd generation of its successful DC-9 family of jetliners (following the MD-90-30). This particular aircraft was essentially modernized DC-9-30 with capacity for up to 117 PAX (depending on operator configuration) and intended for medium haul routes. It featured an EFIS type flight deck and was powered 2 advanced quiet and fuel efficient RR BR715 turbofan engines (rated at 18,920 LBS thrust each). The MD-95 was launched by VALUJET (later AIRTRAN AIRWAYS) during 1995. McDONNELL-DOUGLAS was merged into BOEING during August 1997. Despite industry-wide speculation BOEING might cancel the MD-95 in favour of its own late model B737 SERIES aircraft the first airframe was completed and rolled-out on June 10th 1998 .... and which was re-branded as the B717-200. It first flew on September 2nd 1998 and was awarded FAA certification during September 1999. The B717-200 entered service with AIRTRAN AIRWAYS during October 1999. It remained in production until 2006 and by which time a total of 156 airframes had been delivered .... some 103 of which remain in service today and with no hull losses, or fatalities, resulting despite only 5 incidents ever having been recorded to date.
Chesley HANN has produced the following "new" B717-200 panel ....

No other FDE version should be used with this particular simulation .... and no additional FDE edits are necessary beyond what is already compiled into this project and currently downloadable from Chesley HANN's FB group.
PLEASE NOTE: This "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP" produced B717-200 panel "cannot" function as intended unless the Chesley HANN edited FDE version is used".
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: Those wishing to use this "FS2004 FDE & PANEL DESIGN GROUP" produced B717-200 panel with the HJG exclusive B717-200 simulations "must also then" use the Chesley HANN edited FDE version (only) .... again the HJG supplied B717-200 FDE "cannot" be used with this particular project.
PROJECT # 2. MD-10-30F PANEL PROJECT
MD-10 aircraft were formerly DC-10's upgraded with advanced MD-11 EFIS type avionics .... enabling 2-crew operation by eliminating need for the F/E .... and also promoting dual MD-10/MD-11 pilot type rating/certification too. This project was undertaken by BOEING during 1996 in order to modernize, as well as standardize, the FED EX operated DC-10 and MD-11 fleet. It involved the conversion of both DC-10-10CF/F and DC-10-30CF/F aircraft .... which were then re-designated MD-10-10F and MD-10-30F respectively. The first of some 36 upgrades were redelivered to FED EX from 2000.
Chesley HANN has produced the following "new" MD-10 panel .... which is specific to the "MD-10-30F" only (not the MD-10F) ....

PROJECT # 3. MD-90-30ER (EFIS) PANEL PROJECT
The MD-90-30 was a stretched derivative of MD-80 SERIES of jetliners .... this particular aircraft more closely resembling the MD-88. It became first of the 3rd generation of McDONNELL-DOUGLAS's successful DC-9 family .... and the largest version among this series of aircraft. Powered by 2 quiet and fuel-efficient IAE V2525-D5 turbofan engines (rated at 25,000 LBS thrust each) the MD-90 was also the first of the DC-9 family to be equipped with high-bypass type engine technology. Due to the weight of these engines their supporting pylons featured flaps that deflect 30* in response to control input in order to assist pitching the aircraft down in the event of stall recovery ever becoming necessary. With capacity for up to 172 PAX (depending on operator configuration) the MD-90-30 was intended to compete with medium range A320 and B737-NG series aircraft. The MD-90-30 program was launched by DELTA AIRLINES during November 1989. It first flew on February 22nd 1993 and was awarded FAA certification during June 1994 .... then entered service with DELTA AIRLINES during February 1995. MD-90-30 production continued after BOEING absorbed McDONNELL-DOUGLAS during August 1997, but, this aircraft only remained in production until 2000 when the last of a total 116 airframes was delivered. Most MD-90-30's entered service with semi-EFIS type flight-decks, but, those operated by SAUDIA ARABIAN AIRLINES featured fully EFIS type instrumentation .... whilst the flight-decks of SAS operated aircraft were eventually updated to this standard. DELTA AIRLINES became the worlds final operator of the type ..... withdrawing its last MD-90-30's from service on June 2nd 2020.
Chesley HANN has produced the following "new" MD-90-30 EFIS panel .... and which specifically represents "MD-90-30ER" aircraft ....
