As of yesterday HiFiSim is no longer supporting the older version of ActiveSky that I use by not allowing access to their servers for up to date weather download. I knew this day was coming, but was dreading it. I consider a huge part of my simming experience was to use real world/time weather. I could use the normal aviation weather sites for flight planning, and while in flight I could check the destination metar to know what weather would be on my arrival. Now all gone.
If anyone has an idea of a replacement I would like to know. However, I think this is just one more step to finally abandoning FS9. It will be awhile before I can afford a computer to run MSFS20, or even FSX. Sigh..........

Alex, That's a no go for me. I checked their web site and FSRealWX requires W10. My FS9 computer is W7. Mike

Not sure if it’s the same thing, but it doesn’t mention Win10 in the specs 🤷🏻♂️
Cheers, Nathan

Mike If you go here: www.fsrealwx.de/index.php and drop down the downloads button, you will see ARCHIVE and then FSRealWX Lite. It is what I use and I have Windows XP.

Nathan and Ryan,
I'm going to check out both of these alternatives. I'll try the lite version and see what happens.

Tony, I had the same issue. BTW, here's a link to the manual which is more for the full version, but has some useful settings drive.google.com/file/d/1dSVfmJJt7d6me6_ooYub7gC2CN4HcWtC/viewI solved my connection problem by changing the metar source from NOAA to vatsim. after doing that it suddenly worked and put the weather into FS Gie it a shot. Tony, Good...I just tried that as a shot in the dark. I saw it was DLing the data from NOAA but then nothing happened. Figured it might be bad data...shocking I know!! A government site not working properly?? Ryan, Any suggestions as to settings that work well?? Mike

Mike-
You need to select VATSIM as your weather data source. None of the others has ever worked for me.

Not a fan of FSrealWX. And the support is non-existent for FS9 users. I also never found the weather remotely accurate at 90% of airports.
I never have that problem with FSGRW.
