Think another detail that needs being born in mind too is the the TM project was originally compiled for FS2004 .... starting around 2004/5 to the best of my recollections.
Since then it's been updated a number of times .... as I mentioned above.
Some of these updates were official TM releases .... but others weren't.
The TM project was, I believe, eventually updated for FSX, but, it's from here some things "may" (possibly) have started going downhill according to commentary I reviewed on another forum.
"Someone else" released "his own" version of the panel aspect (only) of the TM project and for FSX use .... but for the most part the TM project was founded upon FS2004.
I followed the TM project for bit but became aware that even some of the TM released updates didn't resolve all of the reported issues even as far back as 2009.
Someone else (not associated with TM) independently released a couple of versions of a SPERRY 177 AP (to replace the panels default SPERRY 77 AP) in order to transition the panel to B737-200 ADV (rather than early -200 classic) appearance. It looked good, but, I couldn't get it to run flawlessly.
An interesting detail that only came to light whilst I was in engaged in communication with the author whom originally compiled the B732 panel featured within the TM project (before TM employed it) is .... this B732 panel was released as "A COMMUNITY PROJECT". TM don't actually own it. The original authors/compilers intention was for the panel to remain "a community project" (what surprised me during this conversation with the original author/compiler is TM apparently never actually consulted with him at any stage during their adaption of his panel for their project .... interesting I thought) .... and which the community was also then at liberty update and freely distribute. This was written into the EULA which accompanied various releases of the TM project up until around 2009 (and possibly later too), but, what I've related above came "straight from the horses mouth .... so to speak.
The community oriented intent of the original author/compiler is admirable, but, it's also what's enabled less competent people (meaning well of course) to edit the panel to the extent it has been .... and which has possibly resulted in additional issues that remained unresolved today.
Given what I've "so far seen" (key words) in regard to old panel releases (not TM) working in FSX, and within the WIN 10 environment too, there's probably no major reason why the like of panel related audio shouldn't continue function .... so if it's not then such must come down to the nature of the way things have been compiled .... "is my guess" (key words again).
IMHO .... the best releases of the TM project were as follows ....
V1.25 (full project released during 2009)
V1.26 (a small update released around the same period or not long afterward)
These were all "FS2004" releases though, but, in my own assessment are the versions of the TM project panel which functioned best .... though not without minor idiosyncrasies that were never completely addressed even way back prior to 2009.
I compiled a report (a wee while back) in regard to the maintenance issues I discovered needing attention, so, I know what some of these issues are and where they're located .... in so far as the FS2004 releases of the TM panel is concerned at least.
Whatever's happened since shouldn't be all that difficult to correct.
Just got to have "THE RIGHT PEOPLE" attending to the necessary corrections .... and which really narrows down the pool/field of FS expertise that can be depended upon in order to to fix the recorded issues
