...And here they are! As I alluded to in the Tango post, Air Canada decided that not one, but two low-cost divisions was going to be their key to success. While Tango was mostly intended to carry people from eastern Canada to tourist destinations, Zip was basically a carbon-copy of WestJet (even employing a few former WestJet executives), and was mostly limited to western Canada. In contrast to Air Canada's understated livery of the time, Zip went for an assortment of whimsical colors. Originally, these were solid with a bee and its flight path on the fuselage, which was changed to stripes some time later. As you might imagine, the operation wasn't a success, and was shut down after just two years in September 2004. Just as a note about the later liveries, the pink and orange variants had curved stripes, while the blue and green ones were straight. There's one more hybrid variant still left to do, but these are certainly the more exciting ones of the group!

Love Canadas 200s. And I love that they don’t have the same strict noise restrictions like N/A and Europe

...And now for something completely different! I realized recently that it's been something like five years since I've painted a a -146/Avroliner, but here's the first of a few to help fill in some of the remaining gaps in those fleets. This is RJ100 OO-DWA of Brussels Airlines circa 2008; it wears the basic scheme used by SN Brussels, which was its direct predecessor. Formed in 2002 from DAT, which was a still-viable subsidiary of the recently-collapsed Sabena, it merged with Virgin Express to form Brussels (sans the SN) in 2007. As such, there were quite a few hybrids flying around at the time. This eventually gave way to a new livery which was broadly similar, but featured a dark navy blue and a more neutral shade of gray.

Thanks everyone, I'm happy to do them! One more new one for now is this closely-related RJ-100; OO-DWB retained its original Sabena tail until about 2008 (as also used by SN Brussels).
