AMERICANA DE AVIACION was founded during 1990.
It commenced operations during 1991 .... and flew domestic services within Peru servicing the following destinations ....
Lima Arequipa Ayacucho Chiclayo Cuzco Juliaca Piura Pucallpa Puerto Maldonado Tacna Trujillo Tumbes Iquitos Salta Cordova
It initially operated B721's, then B722's (operating a total of 9 of the B727 type), and an F28 also .... until 1994 when the Gobierno Peruana passed legistlation that grounded all B727's that'd accumulated in excess of 20 years service.
3 B732's replaced their B727 fleet but the airlines financial stability had also by this time deteriorated too .... and which resulted AMERICANA eventually ceasing operations during 1997.

Americana is a new one for me……like those a lot! I liked those too, different and interesting liveries specially that blue 721 with the yellow scratch on the tail giving away its previous operator "Aero Republica Colombia". Peru had nice liveries throughout the 90s. I found timetables for almost all (if not all) of those carriers in OAGs so I will eventually turn these into AI and make those Latin VFR sceneries look busy and colorful. There's a couple more Aerosur liveries, Aerosur Boeuing 737-300 "Yacaré" (2009)Aerosur Boeuing 737-300 "Potro" (2010)More coming!

Thanks Mark, there's two more of those to complete them all. Three more from Peru, Aerochasqui 727-100 (1991)Aero Santa 727-200 (1994)Expresso Aereo 727-200 (1994). This one is my best guess/attempt since there there is only one very low resolution picture out there and whatever I could make out of a TV ad from a YouTube video.More to come!

"GREAT" contributions also Eduardo. Quite a bit of classic history there .... and the tail art for the 2012 liveried VENEZOLANA B732's has come up really well. Just for the sake of cultural explanation the "photographic tail art" on these 3 aircraft represents famous/historic places/infrastructure and tourist/scenic related attractions within Venezuela as follows .... - YV268T = "Church Of San Antonio Del Tachira" - YV502T = "General Rafael Udaneta Bridge" - YV513T = "Angel Falls Canaima Parque Nacional" A note concerning VENEZOLANA B732 YV3471: This particular aircraft is currently (as of a few months ago) "one of" the worlds last remaining B732's currently still operating regular scheduled commercial services. As related within the following-linked video .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po7enUeReuYPLEASE NOTE: The INTERCONTINENTAL/INTER COLOMBIA DC-9-10 liveries "are not" the same as those we already offer for this particular carrier. INTERCONTINENTAL DE AVIACION underwent a number of significant identity changes (resulting in variations of period livery) right up until their 2005 demise. These new liveries extend our "historic representation" of DC-9's operated by this particular carrier. Mark C AKL/NZ
