Hello folks We've just bought an AMD64 4.4dual. Ge force 7600gt graphics card.3 gig DDR ram And Windows PRO 64BIT........ We are installing all the odds & sods on to it...and are just about flying again.....although we are having a few issues with the CH Virtual Pilot yoke....but we 'think' we can sort these out. Some payware things we have, like PMDG won't load....only designed for 32 bit apparently.... Can I assume, before I start to put my HJG on...that they are compatible with 64 bit.... Many thanks John PS If anyone has experience of trying to make CH vitual pilot work, please feel free to Email me....or share your experiences here?....as sooner or later most may come across this problem...as they upgrade. We have bought a Rockfire RM-203 to convert from the old 'multi pin' to USB.....and are still experimenting!!!! but we can fly! johnsmeth@aol.com

John I have a similar set up but I use a 32 bit XP home edition, I have heard of problems with FS from others who try to use a 64 bit operating system, always make sure you get the proper drivers for your video cards etc? Other than that I have no other ideas that may help??? anyone else out there help with this one?

Yeah - run in 32-bit mode. Until Vista comes out or you reformat to a LINUX OS, a 64-bit processor really doesn't do much. Most of the computer programs out there will not operate on 64-bit and unless you install XP 64 (which is very buggy as it's a "stop-gap") and the program was designed to run with a 64-bit processor. Amazingly, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warrior was designed on a 32-bit processor and Red Storm Entertainment says that the game may not run get any appreciable increase in performace running 64-bit when Vista is released.

OK thanks for the info.......looks like we are running 'ahead of time' !! I'll keep you informed as we progress.......hope to put some HJG bits on this weekend, so I'll report how we manage. These will we brand new 'out of the box as it were' .As for the analogue CH virtual pilot yoke.....their techy department are saying we need a new one (ie USB) I'm not convinced, as we are flying the default planes reasonably OK. I'll get back as soon as I've had more stick time, and let the forum know what I discover . Cheers John PS I feel like a test pilot!
