Who me or the repaint ;D Thanks Phil .... and what a coincidence too ! I've just been talking to Herman KREIMS about this very rare short tailed AIR INDIA B707-420 early on today .... see GENERAL FORUM. Looking good so far This particular repaint depicts the AIR INDIA B707-420 delivery scheme of February 1960 .... which was based on the same scheme applied to the airlines CONSTELLATION fleet. Looking forward to the finished result For those who don't know .... or may have forgotten .... Phil BEHREND aka "ALDO REGOZANI" has a reputation for producing some of the best natural metal texturing ever seen on HJG models. Phil .... just sent you a PM aulde chap ! Mark C AKL/NZ

the paint of course! yea well i have to admit that there was not a lot of reference material available, so i used a bit of imagination. maybe you could give me some suggestions if you see any flaws, mark. for example i am not sure if the belly is supposed to be grey or all metal.

Definitely "NATURAL METAL". There's not a lot of reference material around concerning this particular B707-420 livery. Here's the only realworld image I ever found .... obviously of the arrival of AIR INDIAS's delivery flight of February 25th 1960 www.tribuneindia.com/2003/20031207/spectrum/flight6.jpgWhat you've got there so far looks spot on with what I do know and have seen previously though. Aldo; I have a color picture somewhere in my files showing this Air India livery. If I find it would you like me to post it?
Regards; Herman

Aldo; I thought I had a photo of the Air India 707-420, but all I could find is this picture from the book "Classic Early Jetliners". As Mark already mentioned your texture seem to be right on.

There may have been at least two in that livery and perhaps two with short tails
VT-DJJ was their first and 'DJI the second

That's "PERFECT" Herman ! Far beter than anything I ever sent "ALDO" previously concerning this aircraft/livery .... other than the logos and titles which I got scanned from kitset decals. You seem to have some great reference material 3 to be precise Gary VT-DJI, -DJJ, & -DJK were all delivered between February and March 1960 .... and I don't think thgey were all delivered consecutively either. All 3 did have short tails but only the first 2 (so far as I'm aware) were delivered in this very early scheme. The last featured the predominantly red and white livery we currently already host. All were upgraded both aerodynamically and livery-wise before the end of 1960. Mark C AKL/NZ

Alto; your Air India 707 looks absolutely great. Here is another picture you and others might like. Yes it's real. Boeing photographers took the oppertunity when both aircraft were out for a test flight. From the book "Classic Jetliners Boeing 707\720. Herman
