She's almost finished now. Zambia Airways' exotic colors look spectacular on the 707. This is 707-351C 707-338C 9J-AEL rather early in her career with the combi exits in-active {they were later re-activated once the aircraft was sold off to Trans Arabian Air Transport, I have a picture of 9J-AEB, a -351C, in a book showing the combi door outlined {active}. I have to chase this one down. Might as well do that one after the freighter is done. It's the "HJG Zambia Airways Buy One Download One, Get Two More thrown in for Free 'special' " ;D} Busy right now at the moment getting the windscreen painting done...I have white, green, red, black and a 'smidgen of orange on the bottom..getting splashed all over that thing.. No worries, plenty of virtual paint thinner taking care of that... ;D To note, on their ex-NWA -351C's, they left the windscreen posts alone in their original bare metal!! Go figure..? ;D ...Hope you folks enjoy this one! Kind Regards John

Hello, Nice ... This plane remind me one of the frightening flight I made ..lol. A Rome - Lussaka - Mauritius and return ....... Arrival at Mauritius ...with a stop at the very end of the runway (ground assistance required for move back the plane!) and over this ..my luggages not there (transfered wrongly on a flight Lussaka -Johannesburg) Lussaka -Rome ... frightening take off (first nose wheel up at "rotate" was wrong ! nose wheel down again and full power !! with good vibrations for appreciate the power of a 707 .... and take off with wheels few meters over the airport fences .... suppose it was a overweight problem...) I can't wait your new repaint Regards.

Hey guys Thanks for the kind words and memories shared. I bet that was a white knuckle moment on that bird Gus! Well..been at work on finalizing this one today and here she is in all her green splendor. Got the horizontal stabilizer painted up correctly too. Going for the freighter version next. I did some reading up on this ship and she's now a JSTAR's plane with Gary's unit at Robins AFB, GA. The second JSTARS plane in the inventory, now flying as 92-3290. Blasting off out of Lusaka... Aft right side rear view showing that pretty green on the hstab and the livery carrying over. FWIW: I've looked all over for references if they put the REG number/tail number on the wings and can't locate anything showing they did, so if someone can confirm they did and where they placed them, that'd be an easy edit to add onto the wings. Mark..this one is airborne to you asap. She's done. ;D Regards John

Thanks for the link Gus!
I just test-flew this one during early evening, then at night from Lusaka to Harare to check the lighting textures and made some mods to the window lighting on the right side {1 window forward and two aft were plugged} and some adjustments to the black radome texturing. She's done. That's a wrap for this one. Bring on the freight version! ;D

Bit of luck John
I was sure this would be the case so I googled.
Not a lot came up but the first one was an underneath shot
Didn't show anything but a quick blast with the midtones showed enoughth.
The US generally don't have them
As far as I am aware most countries still have them on the bottom.
Some like the UK insisted top and bottom but after years of airlines not putting them on the stop they changed the rules to allow that.

Guys
Updated the latest shots in the top post, she's very close.
I "Deactivated" the combi escape doors as they weren't in use it appears, made some corrections to the size and placement of the tail logo, smoothed out the striping under the cockpit.
All I have left is the windscreen to get painted white and the green/red/black on the strip nearest the fuselage.
Cargo variant next. ;D

Now you're cooking with oil John ! Thanks Mark.. Hehehehehe...That's ALSO what my Taiwanese wife and her mother do to me almost every day. LOL! Cook with -lots- of oil. ;D It's a genuine pleasure Mark!, I'm completely enjoying this, I wished I knew a few years ago what I know now how to work with PSD's. It's a learning experience and getting my skills together for my next 'little project' {Hee Hee Hee..I ain't sayin' nothin!...just yet..} ;D after this one is packed in the box and uploaded. I just want to thank those whom started up and those whom stepped up to take the reins and rebuild HJG , getting it to the place it is now. That includes all who've built and painted the Model, crafted the Flight dynamics and FANTASTIC {and yes ..addictive..} panels, the paintkit and the sound packs..All of it! They have made a truly wonderful FREE addon by the crew here, past and present, making a marvelous replica of this venerable plane! My earliest screenshots were all grainy and nasty. Stopped using JPG format and turned to PNG format when doing a screenie. And thanks to some great feedback, we've addressed some paint issues and have her on course. {BTW- My daughter loves flying Flightsim and lately she watches me paint while she does her summer math and Chinese homework, when she's done she asks for this one. Quote tonight "Daddy, I want to fly your green plane.."} I'm trying to make these paints as individual as possible and giving me lee-way to take them into the next paint project I'm going with.. Already have one more carrier in the preliminary PSD stage at the moment..I drew out the basic outline of the cheat-line this afternoon and it's to serve very well with what I have in mind for several "species" of 707's of that certain carrier in mind in the very near future. But, that's only one of many ideas 'cooking at the moment. I really want to focus on Africa and have been actively looking over African carriers. It's a fascinating continent rich with aviation history that this plane series has flown. Anyone up to suggest long-sought liveries? Anything and everything is open to me. I've got a few in mind at the moment, but I'd like to hear from everyone what they'd like to see?! Regards John

My beautiful 16 year old daughter (actually a star Netball player here) is starting to like it too. She does absolutely beautiful T/O runs and rotations .... but .... has yet to master the art of shooting approaches correctly/safely I couldn't believe what I saw her do the other day though. She was flying our DELTA CV880-22 .... and was at 7000FT at 9 DME from the RWY 34R thresshold at KSEA .... and still made a perfectly successful landing That's something I've never .... ever .... seen done before with a CV880 ;D That sounds like a very good region to focus upon John .... there is currently a noticeable void in our inventory covering this particular geographic region. I could could suggest a few ! I'll do some homework and offer my suggestions per PM .... I'm sure others might contribute even suggestions too. HEY .... I didn't realise until just now that the subject of your ZAMBIA repaint is an ex QANTAS (-338C) aircraft .... interesting ! Mark C AKL/NZ
