skykingB720,
How many hours of flying time did you get flying DC-8"s? I flew to Hawaii in the United Airlines Friendship Super DC-8-61, Great plane! United ruined it by not Having our reservations When we arrived.

Just noticed the welcome thread, so I figure I should introduce myself. I'm Mike, I presently live in Buffalo, NY but grew up just outside of New York City. Being a relative youngin, I cant speak fondly of days when 707's, DC-8's and Convairs were roaring around the sky, but growing up in a well-traveled family and living under the approach patterns for LaGuardia and JFK gave me a big interest in planes, particularly the ones we regularly flew on. I consider the Boeing 727 to be my all-time favorite plane and it is probably still the type I have the most travel hours on; starting as a kid with Eastern Airlines, Piedmont and Continental and ending with the Delta Shuttle during my college years. LaGuardia was usually our airport of choice, and I still have a fondness for it that defies even the high tolls and awful traffic involved getting to and from it by car. Personally, I think flying into LaGuardia's runway 33 approach on a typically windy winter day in a swept-wing 727 is one of those seminal flight experiences everybody should have experienced. Doubly so if while halfway down the runway there was an incursion which required a go-around, which gave you an appreciation for the noise, power and maneuverability of those old workhorses ;D Finding this site was great, and even with my FS2002 its been great to have access to these older planes and liveries. With aircraft design and branding getting more homogeneous by the day, its nice to see and pilot all these old birds just like it's their heyday once again. Thanks to all the developers, painters and everybody else who made this site possible! ;D

Well. I haven't made it yet, but, am in the process. Am making a still. Don't worry- I do not live in the U.S. of A. I have acquired the "pot", which I stole from my wife's cooking area. I also have a lid, which I plan on securing with small "C" clamps. I'm in the process of pricing 1/2" copper tubing, thinking I should get a meter or meter and a half. Any comments, thoughts,.ideas, opinions, or any other reasonable facsimilies thereof? I'm aware that moonshine doesn't taste all that great (a student of Glennfiddich and Wild Turkey). But that stuff's expernsive where I live, so I figure to start with a shot or two of this power house, then go on to the good stuff.
