Every once in awhile, I'll come across a field who's elevation is way different from the surrounding scenery. Has anyone figured out if you can correct that? Oh yeah, FS2004.

One tool you might want to check is AFCAD2.1 available from most FS-related sites. With this tool you have the ability to alter the elevation for a specific airport. Normally this shouldn't be an issue if using default airports and scenery. Once you begin to add third party airports and/or scenery/mesh you may run into these problems, where the altitude of an airport doesn't match the altitude of the terrain. This is normally taken care of using a so called flatten-file which is a file that converts the whole area of the airport to a flat piece of land, but it could also give a strange look of the surrounding terrain.
You might also try to pop the question over at FSDeveloper.com as this site is mostly support/help with HJG-aircraft issues.
But hang in someone with knowledge in these parts may come along and guide you in the right direction.

You might want to try a tool called JABBgl.
With its aid, one can do a direct hatchet job on FS9 airport altitudes.
Available at AVSIM
