Greetings! Thank you for the beautiful 146. When I install the base model all is well. When I install the detailed panel I have a lot of strange problems. In create a flight when the 146 is selected FS2004 almost hangs, Alt-Tab out of FS and then back in restarts things. When the 146 with panel does come up, the system again hangs. Even the Esc key will not bring it back. I have done install several times, testing first with the base pack, they with the panel installed. I really would like to get it to work. System is Pentium D915, 2 GB RAM, Radeon 9600XT, Win XP SP2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Les

The long load time is normal. The manual says that the panel basically overrides the normal FS electrical system to install its own which is what (in my view) makes the panel so sweet. You should see the main, PED and OVHD all displayed when up and running. The first time it is also cold and dark so you have to go through the check list to get it going.
I haven't had it hang FS after it came up. Do you use FSAutostart or equivalent to shut down all processes, etc to free up as much resources as possible for FS? Also make sure you put the proper gauge.ini and cfg files where they belong. See this forum and the manual.

it should load but as previously mentioned it takes a while, I guess depending what tyou have running in the background of your PC will vary the load up time.

Thanks to both of you. You are correct in that given enough time everything does load up. I just wasn't expecting it to take longer than commercial panels such as Ready for Pushback and others. Excellent panel though.
Thanks again, Les

"YES" folks .... please be aware this is a complex and highly detailed panel. Even on a fast system it may take a wee while to load up completly. During this longer than normal loadup time you might even think FS has "HUNG" on you .... but .... it hasn't. Just give it all the time it needs to load .... and it will .... and run perfectly. Similarly it might also take a wee while to exit this panel after any FS session. Again this is quite normal .... "DON'T WORRY" ! Mark C BOG/CO

Hi All,
Les, thank you very much for the compliment about the panel. I'm very happy that you like it.
About the loading time: There are two reasons for this. The first reason is the number of the gauges and custom variables the panel use. When loading the panel, the FS has to unzip the large cab file and to search for each variable which has to be loaded first (systems). This takes some time. After that the FS has to replace it's systems with my ones. Nevertheless the long loading time has no effect on the framerate.
Best Regards Matthias
