Hi All I have a small understanding problem with the sound installation. In chapter 2.3 Necessary changes in the sound.cfg. I see the following phrase: "For deleting the standard autopilot sound it is very important that you are using an own soundest for your BAe 146. Beside the sound.cfg, the sound folder of your BAe 146 must have some *.wav files. When you just found a sound.cfg, please install a soundest first. You could find some very nice BAe 146 sounds on the established download sites." I am danish, and just don't get that. What doe's that mean. I don't understand the word "soundest". What do I do? Hello, What I understand is: You must install a particular set of sounds for the Bae 146 and in the sound.cfg of this sound pack..modify the line concerning the autopilot sound as required . By default the installation made a sound folder with this in the sound.cfg The sound pack furnished by HJG is very good [fltsim] alias=B737_400/sound Hope it's help. Regards.

Hello Henrik, hello Gus,
Yes, that was exactly what I want to say in the manual ;D. I also could highly recommend Mark's great soundset for the BAe 146 which you could find here on the HJG site.
Best Regards Matthias

Hello
I already installed these sounds into the plane - great sounds - so I must have been doing it right.
Thanx

Btw. soundest is just a 'typo' for soundset.... nothing magical in that :-)

In relation to the abovementioned AUTOPILOT sound edit.
As I recall, the Mathias's panel installation instructions (contained somewhere within the first few pages of the manual) recommend editing the SOUND.CFG file of the HJG supplied BAe 146/ARJ soundpack as follows ....
Open the HJG supplied soundpack for these aircraft. Locate the SOUND.CFG file. Identify the section name "AUTOPILOT" .... by default it will look like this ....
[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND] filename=caapdis maximum_volume=12000
Change the last line (VOLUME=) so that in then looks like as is bold typed below ....
[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND] filename=caapdis maximum_volume=0
.... the save the change
As Mathias's BAe 146 panel gauge/sound files already feature authentic AP sound for this aircraft, the above recommended SOUND.CFG edit will ensure the panel suplied AP sound is prioritized over anything else.
I do endorse this edit !

Hi All,
I think it's necessary to explain why I had to make this small modification to the sound.cfg. As you may know, my autopilot gauge is quite a bit special. It does a lot of things in the background you don't recognize while flying. If you believe it or not, one of those things is to switch off and on the FS AP itself in several situations. When you don't change the entry in the sound.cfg you hear the AP disconnect sound several times but you didn't disengage it. Because of this it was necessary to include the AP disconnect sound into my panel and AP system and to remove it from the soundset. For this I've used an original BAe 146 AP disconnect sound I had here on my harddisc.
Best Regards Matthias
